So its come to the point where its obvious that i need to take early maternity leave being so unwell this pregnancy.
Seeing my GP tomorrow who i gather will write me a certificate for immediate early maternity leave.
Question is do i wait till tomorrow get the certificate and take that into work or do i give them a heads up today as to whats happening.
Bosses know i have been horribly sick this pregnancy but i don't think they have any idea its got to the point of me having to finish up.

I jobshare so work thurs and fri.
what would you do??? and if you would tell them what would you say??
email or phone??

oh and office manager is away overseas on holidays for the next few weeks so would have to speak to senior admin/payroll or the 2 partners

Talk to the partners & explain to them that it's gotten to the point that you need to take maternity leave effective as of now. Get the cert. from your GP & take it in.

Just tried to contact both partners. One is at a conference and the other is on sick leave apparently getting 'the snip' today.

So decided to write them both an email so at least they will get a bit of notice before i turn up with a certificate for immediate leave tomorrow.

Will see if i get a reply

There's a start. Atleast on of them should get the email.

That's it, you & your family come first.

I left work as soon as I found out I was preg, no leave just resigned & left. My family to be came first.

:hugs: I was given a certificate to leave work about 2weeks before I was due to start maternity leave with DD1 and it was actually classed as sick leave until my maternity leave started. So I was paid the sick leave until my mat leave started! I had PE, so was on bedrest too. I hope they take it well :fingerscrossed:, my boss was fantastic.

Got replies from both bosses last night telling

Went to DR this morning and got my certificate for leave due to 'pregnancy complications' then went to work this arvo to hand it in with my keys et.

So now its all done and dusted and i am on leave.

Hope it all went smoothly, now REST!!! Have as many PJ days as you want, enjoy (as much as someone puking all day or feeling like absolute cr@p can!!) being pregnant and all the little kicks and dances from bubby (it's the one thing I remember loving about pregnancy :p)

Just change your pj shirt & day care days & leave your bottoms on, throw on some slippers & your good to go.
