We bought some Gaia shampoo for DD1, thinking it would be better than Johnsons products which was giving her psorisis, but its giving her some sort of irritation because she is scratching her skin to shreds and the only thing we can put it down to is the Gaia.
So I am looking for some products, mainly shampoo and bath wash, that isn't full of chemicals like Johnsons, and won't have my gorgeous daughter shred her beautiful, soft skin. I'm guessing something that is quite neutral?
You dont actually need to use anything in the bath so If products are irritating her I would leave it alone for a while.
Does she have eczema?
Maybe just some olive oil (yes the stuff you cook with) in her bath to keep her skin hydrated.....

I used to use qv wash on my daughter and son when their eczema flared up. I also used to get this cream from lush that was all natural and great for eczema. It was called dream cream and they also have dream wash as well. Oh wait just realised you said shampoo... I use this one from woolworths thats in a green penguin shaped bottle i think either green or white can't remember what it's called. My kids are older and I actually rarely wash their hair anyway just give it a rinse.
i get really bad psoriasis when i am pregnant and water alone dries it out :(. i have bought some Billi goat soap for the new bubba to-be and i used a little bit to see how it goes on my skin as ppl with eczema rave about it. its been great! i have tried thier soap which does feel a little dry but the Billy baby wash is fantastic!

My mum has psoriasis and she uses goats milk soap and swears by it.
Just water is fine.
If you have to use something... try a handful of rolled oats. They have natural moisturising properties and cleansing properties.
If you want to wash her hair, try some lukewarm chamomile tea.

She doesn't have baths, she showers, she is absolutely petrified of the bath. I am mainly after shampoo but also a body wash. I'll have to have a look at the goats milk wash, sounds great :)

many health food shops stock them as well as MYER. QV is great too but i cant use QV on my face for some reason where as, I can with the goats milk products.
have you tried wrapping bubba in a light cotton cloth (even a muslin wrap) and then placing her in the bath? that was the only way i could get my boys in there without them panicking.

We used aveena on DS when his skin as at its worst. However we have recently changed all our soaps and shampoos over to lush products due to my skin issues. I love their stout hairwash it makes my hair really light and fluffy (which is a big feat when you have as much hair as I do) I use it on DS too

Oh its for DD1 :o she is scared of the plug  we won't be using anything for DD2 til she is well over 1.
I'm still getting the hang of mentioning if I'm talking about DD1 or DD2 :o
Billie Goat is really good! :)

I also use soapbricks on my kids they last ages too and fairly cheap. They are homemade goat soaps and you can find them on fb.

My DS has been through every damn product on the market. He has atopic dermititis, extremely dry skin and persistent cradle cap. I've tried everything from olive oil to dermeze to dermaveen, QV, plain sorbolene, gaia, pinetarsol - all with no luck.
Today, on recommendation from another mum in my mother's group, I ordered him a heap of stuff from Moo Goo. Check out their site: www.moogoo.com.au (http://www.moogoo.com.au). Its a real eye opener about the chemicals that go into all the products marketed towards sensitive skin!
I am hoping Moo Goo is the answer to our prayers! Worth a shot, anyways.
My son had skin issues and I found good old Curash Baby Shampoo cleared it all up in no time. Was really just a fluke as we'd been given it as a gift and my mum suggested I try it. And lucky for me, it worked!
I was using Gaia too, and as good as it might be, it's not for us. I also bought body shop baby products and I don't like them either.
Hope you get some relief soon xx

What about just using oats in a muslin cloth like a loofa for her?
They are great for babes with sensitive skin.

We use QV bath wash and QV moisturisor. No skin problems from this end. I generally dont wash her hair. If i do, i actually use a bit of the bath wash lotion. We used to use the Gaia shampoo and moisturisor, but i found it to be just a little too strong. Not only in smell but also for her skin. QV is gentle, soap free and excellent for skin conditions.

I completely agree with oats for a nice natural wash, and olive oil to moisturise. Unfortunately it seems almost any and every product marketed to be specific baby wash/shampoo will contain at least minimal amounts of false preservatives etc.
