View Full Version : Where to buy a nice first Birthday cake?
Hi ladies anyone got a good cake place to buy a first birthday cake from? Or anyone that has a home business?
I would prefer somewhere in the north but as far as the CDB is fine also
Thanks in advance :)
Go onto facebok & look up Cocos cakes. She did my DD christening/1st birthday cake(there's a picture of it in her photo album). Her cakes are beautiful & very, very yummy. She works from home & is in northern suburbs.
Thanks luv off to check it now :)

The best place for cakes is The Delicious Biscuit but she is located at Fulham Gardens so it might be a bit far.
I have been to a few parties which have had cakes from Alfresco2 at campbelltown. They have been delicious.
If you want something different then you should get a gelati cake from gelatissimo. There are 2 stores in the city, one on rundle st and the other on gouger st. They are to die for! My sister got one that was hazelnut and it had a layer of cake at the bottom. She said they also do a tiramisu one where it's a layer of cake, then a layer of coffee gelati, then a layer of cake and a layer of coffe gelati.
I should give you the original photo of ds's lolly cake that we worked off, it was originally a girls cake. You could get it done smaller, mine was ridiculously big, but the kids loved the lollies:yes:
Thx gizmo I'll give it a look :) fulham gdns isn't toooooo far I could get a friend to pick it up! The gelati sounds awesome but I might leave that for my birthday ;)
MBL that would be awesome! That cake was amazing! Ridiculously big like ella's christening cake  we told her for 50 and I swear it could have fed 250 it's was bloody bigger than my wedding cake but fabulous all the same :D if you ever need a cake in Melbourne MBL look her up at splendid servings! She does all custom desingns and for what you get it's worth the $$ ella's cake was $230 and seriously MASSIVE it took three people to lift it out of the car!
I know that place too, they're awesome!!!
I've got the pic up for you, just look in my photos on facebook. But the gallery on splendid servings are amazing, now I can't wait for this bubs 1st birthday for another ridiculous splurge on cake lol
oh and yeah this cake was bigger than my wedding cake too, but I had morning sickness that day and couldn't even eat any, when I ordered it I wasn't even pregnant:( bugger
Ok I'll check it out!! Thx
And yep she is awesome and awesome filling too, you know when you get some awesome looking cakes that just don't taste as good as they look? That sucks but her mud is awesome!!!! Bugger about you MS though bet it was yummy!! Lol
That cake will be perrrfffeeccctttt!!! Fits in with the colour scheme of the invites and balloons I've ordered!!!
Yeah but I thought the same but butterflies on top instead of Lollypops
:yelclap:Yay, it's so nice!! Butterflies would be nice, you could even not have the bottom layer and just the top 2 and heaps of colourful decorations. Thats what I loved about the cake, just all the colours.
Yeah that's what I thought when I saw it on your FB just so bright and colourful!!!
Ps I'm a tad extravagant I think I need the bottom layer too  just smaller
 shh don't say it too loudly or a debate will break out
Now to just call places and see how much what are my chances getting it made for $20
