I wont be 8wks until Wednesday, but I can already feel the top of my uterus, in fact, it's about 1-1.5 inches above the top of my pubic bone. I didn't think you were supposed to feel it until 8wks minimum. Gawd I hope I'm not having twins!!!!!

Heres a hint,
First thing in the morning, when you wake up busting to go to the loo (or is that just me?? lol), you will be able to feel it, for sure, cause your bladder will push it out, even if you hold on for hours, it will pop out, it feels like a ball, ooh, reminder, dont feel too hard, lol, remember you are busting....:o
I felt mine yesterday, but anyother time, its not there yet....

I'm 5 weeks, havent felt for my uterus yet, I am not showing at all, but already can see my abdomen is quite distented (pushing out).
So I am guessing the uterus is moving up.
Angelkisses, imagine if it is twins!

Hope you guys don't mind me posting in your April thread, but I am 12.5 weeks (due beginning of March) and I was wondering the exact same thing!!
I was never really able to suss out exactly where the top of my uterus was last time (yeah, quite a bit of padding there!!) and I have been trying to have a go at feeling it the past few days as my belly is HUGE!! In fact I went into my office yesterday for the first time in over a month & everyone guessed I was PG before I told them! Then when I told them I was only 12 weeks, they all started asking if I was carrying twins!
I have no idea - I was huge & popped out really early last time as well.
I'll be watching this thread though!

I had my uterus measured at my 16 weeks check and they said the fundal height was 18cm and the top was just above my belly button.
But I cannot find it or feel it at all

Generally you can feel the top by pressing on your belly and working your way up. Your fingers will feel like they dop off a ledge as it goes softer all of a sudden.

I saw my mum today and she said to me "you are already popping out". I was like yeah I know and I am only 5 weeks.
As I said earlier in this thread, my tummy is distended, but I didnt think it was that "out" that someone would notice.
I showed before 12 weeks with DD, so maybe I am going to show extra early this time.
Will be going to lie down tonight and trying to feel this uterus of mine.

my dr told me that the uterus does not come out from under the pubic bone until around 12 weeks, so I think if it happens sooner then that, you might want to worry about multiples lol...

Me and DH felt my uterus last night.
Its quite large. I am measuring to the bottom of my belly button.
I did the trick when you lie on your back, and move your fingers up like you are walking up a hill and then it drops off.
Very cool. We are going to be feeling all the time now!

sorry, I cant believe that is right, I think it takes a lot longer before your uterus gets that high up, if at possible to feel it now, it should only be just above your pubic bone..

Sorry to post in April (im due in March) but i had my first appointment Tuesday just passed and the Dr there , asked me to lay down, pushed hard all over my tummy (around the belly button area not lower down) and all she said was "thats nice and soft, very good"???? I was left wondering what the hell she felt, as when i push down i have nio idea what to look for (i will be 11 weeks this wed).. i was under the impression that as someone else said that your uterus remains under your pubic bone, until at least 12 weeks??
If that is true what did my Dr feel for? Or was she just checking it was soft for the uterus to move into?
P.S I dont even really know where my pubic bone is ? :o Is it the top of where your pubic hair line starts?
What does the uterus feel like? As i have read mine should be about the size of a grapefruit right now, is it a hard ball? or soft.
Any advice greatly appreciated

lol, no idea, maybe your organs move out of the way, so its nice and soft, and making room for it???
Yes, your pubic bone is where your pubic hair is, so the top of that, where the hairline starts. And my dr told me that the uterus does now usually come out from under the pubic bone until around 12 weeks.
I do believe it is quiete firm once it comes out, the midwifes use the "fundal height" to keep track of it growing nicely at every visit you will have.

no problem, here is a picture I found that gives you a rough idea how big it is at what stage of pg, so it wont get to the belly button until around 20 weeks

I have been having dreams, thoughts and seeing far too many twins lately. My cousin recently m/c twins and it runs in the family.
I was thinking fully yesterday it was twins.
But I am not feeling like exageratted m/s or anything, like most twins mums do.
I will let you know.

I think I have posted this before, Im not sure, but if you wait to go to the loo, morning is the best, when you are absolutely busting to the point of almost wetting your pants....lol.... Lay on your bed with your legs hanging over the edge, with your bum right at the end, and it will certainly be there, like a tennisball sort of, the extremely full bladder pushes it out, and the way you are laying makes it easier to feel it, my middie told m e that with my first, and it works!
Also, and this is waayyyyy too much information, but after BDing, if you orgasm, it comes up also, the pulsating pushes it up, and it is really obvious then also.
Hope this helps.
