DD1 is currently on an elimination diet. It seems she is reacts to Salicylates, Amines, Colours, Preservatives and possibly cows milk protein.
I believe Childrens Panadol (colour free) contains Salicylates and Amines. She does tend to get agressive when she has panadol.
What can I use as an alternative? Can I buy plain white adults panadol tablets and disolve them in water? How do I work out the correct doesage? Or is there another product I can ask for at the pharmacy?
Many thanks.

I wouldnt give her adult tabs etc Too risky.
How old is she? I do know that painstop is great! No artifical colours etc but not sure about the other things, ask you pharmacy. It last for 6 hours at a time but you cant use panadol at the safe time. Its very good, I would definately ask them about it when you go. I have talked to a few chemists and they all say it really is a better option. My family are all in the medical feild and recommened it to, hope this helps!
A compounding pharmacy would be able to make you up a liquid (sometimes your local pharmacy can do it otherwise look up compounding pharmacy in yellow pages). The trouble is paracetamol is very bitter and unpleasant but you could try adding something that your baby can tolerate (not sure if concentrated pear juice would be tolerated but you can get this at health food stores). Good luck.

I was just about to suggest a compound chemist too  Depending on the reason for using the panadol there would be other alternatives but I would never use adults panadol on a child

Thank you, that sounds perfect. I'll investigate this idea.

There are other brands of childrens panadole on the market.
Would never give anyone under 12 adult panadole
what about homeopathic pain remedies? has anyone tried them - would they cut it?

I would speak to your local pharmacist first and explain your situation to see what they reccommend.
You used to be able to get panadol suppositories (not sure if u still can) which might be an option.
As pp have already said, it depends what you are wanting to use the panadol for as there may be other options available. Pain stop contains paracetemol too, so it may have the same additives, so just check first!
HTH :-)

No but u can get a painstop that is suitable for children over 3 months. Don't think it has codine in it. But again I am not real sure what is in it. Only that every chemist I have talked to have honestly preferred that over panadole. But again not sure what's in it that may react with the op's bub. But other posts seem like a great idea!
