A little background first, I have 3 children aged 9,7,6 to my ex husband who i left when my youngest was 1. He was very abusive and it was a messy divorce. I moved and finished my degree at uni and all was going well and we were doing great on our own. Then 14 months ago I met a wonderful man who is just amazing to me and the kids, they just adore him. He has recently been talking more about having more children, marriage etc... and today he called me to ask if the kids would like to go to his parents so we could have dinner. He was really nervous and when I dropped the kids things at his mums an hour ago she was all happy and acting strange and gave me a hug before I left. So does this sound like "IT" or am I just imagining it? Also if he does propose, how do I go about telling the kids? They love him and his family but I hope it wouldnt change if we were married and if we had more children. I'M FREAKING OUT A BIT. HELP.

That's so exciting! Does sound like *something* is happening. I wouldn't get your hopes up though, I tend to send myself mad waiting and waiting for proposals. With my ex I waited 4 years.

If he does propose, which he very may well do tonight :D, the kids will be fine.. honestly!

kids adapt amazingly fast, they will be fine

hope it happens for you, but don't let your heart be broken if today is not the day does not mean it will not happen in the future

Thanks, the weird thing is that before all of this happened I was content with a "oneday" but now I've started thinking about it, I realise he's the one now and I really want tonight to be it. I'm pretty sure it will be...I will keep you updated.

I was right. YAY!!! He took me to this beautiful little B&B where we had a nice romantic dinner, then we went up to our room and he had rose petals and candles and the fire place was lit...and then...I burst into tears and couldnt stop crying...typical me...so he hugged me and then he popped the question. I said yes, of course and we had a wonderful talk about our future together and we are going to TTC as soon as were married. I am still trying to get it to sink in and I feel like its a dream. His mum and dad brought the kids to have breakfast with us and they are over the moon. MY LIFE IS PERFECT...FINALLY!!!
