Just curious..
I have some terry flats, but while looking for a less chunky fold (impossible) quite a few sites mentioned using Muslin flats instead. I've seen the Muslin nappies and thought they were way too thin, obviously I'm wrong.

To what age would one recommend wearing muslin flat nappies? I'm tired of looking at the bin piled full of baby-love disposables, and while I'm starting my stash I'd love to just use flats around the house. :)

Have you tried flannalette flats? You can get a pack of 6 at Kmart for about $12 i think (its been a while) or a pack of 12 at Target for about $30.

You could always get some second hand ones off ebay that have been used because then they arent as chunky when they have been well loved !

I just cant see them being very absorbant myself but then if you use a booster it may well work who knows !

Hmm, I didn't even know there were flannalette flats... (veve.. where are we going tomorrow, is there a kmart there???)
Miss Brite, would you use a booster or anything in a flanno-flat? I imagine I would in a muslin one....

Yay, i'm helping :D

With my flannalette flats, if they are going to be changed about 3 hourly then no. If i'm stuffing my Greens with them, then i add a microfibre cleaning cloth

One thing with the flannalette flats they are 70cm where as terry's are 60cm. They are still so much thinner when folded though. Oh & snappies dont work to well on them, pins are better  If your using a good cover though you shouldnt have a problem.

DS was a heavy wetter so I didn't find muslin or flannelette flats to be any good for us. One wee and it would be completely soaked. If you are interested in flannelette flats, check out www.ozclothnappies.org for a no pins flannelette fold.
