I went to the drs yesterday and my bp has gone up to 140 /80 its not high but the start of it getting higher so im on bp tablets now. Anyway i have had pre eclamsia with both my last two kids but i didnt get PE till the last month with my youngest and around 31 wks with my first. I dont have PE yet but im hoping this doesnt mean im going to be in and out of hospital with hbp as i have with others and that it doesnt turn into PE too early on. Its supposed to be normal to pE with your third if you have had it twice but usually you get it more severe but later on with each of the pregs. Here is hoping it will just be hbp this time.
Problem is if i end up in hosp or sent to perth like i have been its hard cause dh has to work and i have two kids and knowone else to look after them.
Check ups weekly now with the nurse. I hope it stays ok maybe it did go up early on before i cant remeber. but no PE was later on
oh and im 19wks

I there, I have to much experience with all this for my liking lol
With DS1 I had PE, diagnosed at 30.5 weeks, delivered at 31 weeks.
With DD1 I had PIH started around 24 weeks, bad enough for meds at 32 weeks, delivered at 35 weeks
With dd2 however I was diagnosed with PIH at 19.5 weeks and by 21 weeks had had 2 hospital stays and was diagnosed with PE again... I carried her until 38w6d when she was delivered by scheduled csect!
In most cases they say if you have highbp before 20 weeks it is 'chronic hypertension' and not pregnancy related but does leave a slightly higher chance of developing PE later in your pregnancy. However being 19 weeks its sketchy.
If you'd like to know more of my experience with highbp from 19 weeks just pm me and I'll let you know, rather than write an essay of a post now :D
With my first child I had normal bp until about 33 weeks when it started to climb and I swelled up like a pumpkin! At 35 weeks I was diagnosed with PE and admitted to hospital where I had a c-section a couple of days later. I felt my doctor at the time didn't act quickly enough but that is another story.
With my second child my BP was moderately high but not at treatable levels for the first 20 weeks when I vomiting severely with morning sickness then it dropped down for rest of the pregnancy to normal levels. The ob was a bit baffled by this. I wonder if the morning sickness contributed. So no PE this time.
The same thing happened 3rd time around with the BP and no PE.
Following my pregnancies my BP has been normal for a couple of years, but I now have mild hypertension and am on mild diuretics to treat it. I monitor it closely as we have a major stroke risk in the family.
Wishing you all the best with the rest of your pregnancy:)
