So I've decided after much consideration that I really want my bubs to be a cloth baby.

Initially I was going to get a full package of tot bots and be done with it, but from what I've read on here people have more of a variety of styles...

My mum got me a 12 pack of terry flats when she found out I wanted to go cloth, and I think I'm going to order another 12 muslins (not very expensive and I can use them for other things too).

I've also just ordered a trial pack of greens to have a bit of a look at them - it must have been peer pressure :D

And then I was just going to wait until after bubs is born and see what kind of a baby he is (big/small/heavy wetter/explosive poo-er!...) and then start building up my collection and converting from the terries to the fitted/aios. Does this sound like a good idea or will I really want the fitted nappies straight away???

If you are willing to use flats, do that while the baby is small - fitteds do not last long on newborns, and the one size ones don't always fit all babies very well. Get some hemp boosters or prefolds to boost your flats - they can be used in the fitteds too. I prefer flannelette flats while the baby is small - you can fold them smaller and they are softer too.

Yep ...what Carlia said

Likey that baby will change wee/poo tyes as they get older...as well as shape (chunky thighs/long and skinny)

There is no rush, most stuff can be delivered in a week or less

congratulations on your choice to go cloth

Yay! I'm an aspiring clothie.. we're in 'sposies at the moment while he grows a bit and I get a stash together.

The greens are a one-size-fits-all type, which is too big for newborns, I've found, but they do their job.. just make them a chunky butt.
Here's a pic of Cobey a couple of hours ago in a greens... (http://flickr.com/photos/nikki_m/218172019/) HYOOOOOGE.. but still cute and does the job!
