Does anyone know of any cake decorating supply stores on the Sunshine Coast?

I don't care where they are - I'm willing to drive there if they have what I'm after!

When I lived in Sydney, there were 2 great places near where we lived & between them you could get pretty much anything. This is the first time I've needed one since we moved here & it's just struck me that I have never seen one!

I had a look in the Yellow Pages & there are only 2 listed that look as though they have what I'm after (unsual decorations/cake toppers - so I need somewhere that has a good range). One is House of Flowers at Maroochydore, the other is Melt Me at Gympie.

Before I pack us all up in the car & head on out there, has anyone ever been to either of these stores??

Does anyone know of anywhere else??

i was going to say try spotlight too
i used house of flowers back in 96 for my wedding cakes & obviously my flowers too - it has probably changed since then but it was mainly flowers & different sized cake tins to hire & a few bits to go on top of the cake - maybe give them a call - i know they were helpful when i used them
good luck

I actually did go to Spotlight the other day & ended up getting a whole heap of stuff for Claire's birthday at Sparty's. They were having a sale. The stuff that I got has a tropical fish theme (Claire loves fishies!) so I thought of maybe doing a brightly-coloured fish cake or something along those lines.

I've been online to get some inspiration, but I haven't totally fallen in love with anything I've seen so far. I was thinking I might just wing it & do something on my own, so I was hoping that there would be a really great cake decorating place somewhere so I could just have a bit of a browse & get inspired!

These are some of the cakes I have found online (it's a bit hard to find them because when you do a search for fish cakes, obviously you end up with hits for something completely different! ) What do you think?

Here is a great website for birthday cakes if anyone's interested!

bel_aiden, that site you posted is great!!

I had a quick look & I noticed that they actually had a really great looking fish cake in their gallery!

I'll have a better look when I have a bit more time.

Thanks!!

Wow! That is exactly the sort of thing I want! Although with the price of postage putting it up near the $40 mark, it's a bit more than I'd be willing to pay. After all, I could only really see me using it the once!

Still, I added it to my watch list!

Thanks!!
