Hi I just posted about my anecdotal research that I have done with friends and mums at playgroup inanother thread, but thought that I would ask for some more feedback here as well.

I'm planning on using PullUps to make the transition to being TT for my DD. I went to coles and realised that there were other brands of pants available (eg babylove) that were very similar in price on a per pant basis. I'm pretty sure that I will go ahead with my decision to buy the Huggies PullUps as I have always used their nappies and been happy with quality but wondered about the babylove. Also I have to be honest and say that DD loves the princesses and that's another big draw card, we already have our first pack in the drawer ready and waiting.

Thanks in advance.

I used huggies pullups for both of my children when toilet training and they worked wonders for me. I have heard others say that it made their children lazy but it took some time. I t took a good couple of months for my DS ( last one to be TT) to not have any accidents during the day. That said after about a fortnight in pullups and had him wearing jocks during the day and pullups at night. He took longer to get the number 2's worked out. Recently he has started wearing jocks to bed at night and have had only 2 accidents in about 2 weeks which is great.
When your child is really ready to TT it should be easy after about 2 weeks to see if they are. My DD was on her 3rd attempt to TT when she got the hang of it.
But like you i could only find huggies with disposable training pants at the supermarket. And really they are money well spent in my eyes!!

I never used pullups....they are just nappies without grip tabs. Buy her some undies with princesses on them, they will be far cheaper and will do the same thing.

Yep, or the old school training pants from Kmart. At least the child knows when it has done a wee then.

I think their a waste of money and don't really teach them anything. When we were trainng DS1 he would be nude around the house so he could just go to the loo when he needed. He only wore a nappy at night to bed.
He was completely trained within two weeks and the only time he has wet the bed was a few months ago when he had a nightmare.
We plan on doing the exact same thing with #2 and #3

Totally agree! My kids were nudies too and then just wore pants when people visited or we went out. It is much easier and quicker to get them onto the potty.

I brought Matthew some of those terry towelling pants that are lined with PVC. He had only just turned 2 and I got him a size 2 pair............they only made it up to his knees!!! I swear they must have been made for super skinny 2yr olds. He is a big kid, but he is still skinny as a rake.
