View Full Version : Whats the trick?????
I have started using the terry flats on DS2 while I am building my stash of modern but no matter how I fold the they are very very chunky between the legs. I know it doesn't really matter as he is so young but it is that chunky it goes nearly to his knees. Is there a trick to it that I have forgotten?????
What folds have you tried?
I have 2 different ways of folding the kite and I have tried both. There is also one where you fold into 4 then get 1 corner and pull it back so on one side there is a triangle and the other side is a square. Then with the square you fold it 3 times to the middle. Does that make sense?
have a look at the folds on this website http://www.thenappylady.co.uk/Advice/Instructions.asp?InstructionID=2
There's heaps, you should be able to find one that is less bulky. The Jo Fold is a good one, the bulkyness is more evenly spread out...I use a similar fold with my flanelette flats.
Good luck :)
Thank you for that. I will be saving that site to my favourites.
I second the Jo fold. All terry folds are going to be bulky especially on a little bub. It's just something you get used to. Don't worry about it affecting hips etc because it's actually a better position for developing legs to be in. Another trick with the Jo fold is to roll in the extra fabric around the thighs as you are doing it up so that it creates a gusset effect to help with containment and not seem to low on the legs.
The other option is to look for smaller terry squares (I think Canningvale brand is smaller than others).
