yep what she said..cant view the pics as you have made them private.
I think they are like the pictures I would take. You have a lovely eye for colour, are they just on a normal digital camera? You don't get spectacular results, although you can walk away with some nice pics.
Remember.. Even with the professionals ... Generally out 700 frames you will have 10 photos that are amazing!
And pfft to your hubby. If it is something you and your little people enjoy, that isxwhat makes it fun!

I think they are good pictures...
I like pictures less staged or directed.
Its the only criticism I can find.
I think you are on your way and might be able to capture some beautiful natural pics that capture personality.
BTW..your kids are beautiful.
Thank you :) both my beautiful blondies, i have a ton of pics non posing the ones with vegimite on the face or hiding in curtains that kinda thing most of my photo's are actually natural i just picked these to hopefully print for going up on the walls if they are good enough.

:iagree: I too prefer less posed and more natural ones, but apart from that, they're GREAT! Good on you :)

They are great photos for just taking family snaps.
You have a great eye for setting up a photo. You have put thought in to what is in the background which is important. If you just learnt a little about apperture and shutter speed you photos would be fantastic!
They're very cute photos!
My only suggestion, get a photo editing program and play around with levels and contrast, it will make the photos look more intense.
Otherwise, they're really good!

I like the ones of your daughter hugging the tree and on the grass, the other ones not so much but you are well on your way for sure!

I like the close up on the grass and the hugging tree with the 'landscape' angle.
I think also so editing like with Photoshop, play around with close up, black and white, remove backgrounds or change etc, those shots could look professional.
I want Photoshop :( I used to have so much fun with it!

Oh and they do look a bit posey. With Jasper I photo graph him playing. I've literally taken 2000 photos of him and maybe have 20 that are amazing.
thanks, :) i wish i had the software to edit :( soon hopefully, about 90% of my photos are of the kids playing climbing trees wrestling or having lunch so these posed ones are a rare thing! i have no idea when it comes to speed and contrast so i really do wanna learn :) hehe my hubby calls those pics with the tree a tree hugger lol but yeah i wanna take pics at locations so i can have the kids maybe playing in those big vine kinda trees so i wouldn't have them posed but i havn't got any nice locations close by but hopefully soon.
They are lovely. Just a tip, when doing portraits (photos of kids ect) make sure the subject is a fair distance from the background as it becomes too busy, the photo of your daughter in front of the hibiscus bush would be lovely if she were further away and the background was blurred. The leaves distract attention from the subject. And i am another that likes natural photographs rather than posed ones. And a good photo editing program would be good too, they are awesome :)
Hi Spooky, there's some lovely family photos there, for sure. If you're after photo editing software, google GIMP. I haven't used it but I've heard it's free and good. As one of the other posts mentioned, learing about aperture would be a good thing, but if you're using a point and shoot that won't make much difference to you. As Indigo said, bring the subject away from the back ground, and make sure the back ground is relatively plain, that will make the focus of the photo 'pop' out more. What sort of camera are you using?
If you're using an Office suite - you might have Microsoft Picture Manager on your PC already. It's not fantastic, but you can do some basic edits.

What kind of camera are you using? I only use a dslr so I'm not sure if on a point and shot you have some kind of focus system. In most of your pictures the focus is falling on something else rather than your child so for example a tree that your daughter's hugging seems more in focus than her. If they are just for your own personal use I think they are fine composition wise just try and get them in focus a bit more. Also if you have a point and shoot they will sort of automatically adjust levels so they have a better aesthetic straight out of camera.

Hey I agree with the above comments... The ones of your daughter with the tree and on the grass are stunning!!
the important thing is that the eyes are in focus. you can do a lot with photoshop to make it look a bit flasher too. Maybe try a free program... Picasa is very basic but gives you a bit of a taste for things that you can do and is free.
It's all just practice!!! you obviously have a love for it and some beautiful kids to photograph so just enjoy it!!! Put them on the wall because you're proud of them.

I like where you are going with these, try getting further away from the subjects and then zooming in on them, when you are too close you get distortion which tends to make noses and foreheads look bigger than they actually are.
