View Full Version : Hayfever
Hey guys...
I've had the worst hayfever of my life the past few weeks
it's taking over and decides to hit me really bad at 3am every morning   i'm losing sleep and feeling like a zombie throughout the day..
Does anyone know what i can take for it that is safe to use throughout pregnancy?

I have used rhinocort the prescription one though not over the counter and it helps but is something you have to continually take as it takes a few days to kick in so it prevents you getting hayfever rather than treating once you have it. It is not cheap though is $75 and last 3months but is cheaper with a hbf card or health care card. It is safe to take in pregnancy as i took it with my first preg and i am again as i kept getting hit with hayfever as well. Worth the money

My doc's advice was to stuff a tissue up each nostril for the duration :gloomy:

I know how you feel, i have suffered with it now for about 7 weeks and my doc advised me to take nothing for it!!!
I went to my chemist and she gave me Garlic, horseradish and vit.C tablets..all natural, itake 6 a day but they seem to help!
Its notas good as taking a nice strong dose of drugs LOL but its all natural and Im feeling like myself again, well almost!
Try it and hopefully it will help!

Brauer has a homeopathic range (found at most Chemist's) and their Hayfever Relief I find works really well.
They are basically little sugar tablets that you put under your tongue, just another alternative to medication.

ohhh Ness thanks for that tip, i love brauers homeopathic range use them all the time with O.
Will have to check that out:D
First my DD, I used Polaramine. OB told me one thing, but when I went to the chemist, they said I could take it, and it was lots cheeper. I know I found some pharmicists really rude about it when I asked... they were obviously not hayfever sufferers.

Another alternative treatment that i've used and found to work really well is a product called "Quercitone" by a company called Bioceuticals. This combined with Vitamin C is really effective although it's not an instant relief - it will take about 2 weeks to really start working. You won't find it in any old chemist though so you'll need to see a naturopath or a healthfood shop with a naturopath who has these products.
