DP has decided to join the Army :D

Hi all, I don't post much on Bubhub, but I'm so proud of my DP that I have to make a thread about it!

DP has decided to join the Army. He applied today online but there are no places in Melbourne taking anyone for the YOU session etc, so he's going to call up tomorrow to see when they are currently doing more sessions in Melbourne again fur w00t I'm so proud of him :D.

Has anyone or their DP had to wait until they were taking more people in for the application process?

I think it depends on what job your DP is going for. Jobs like riflemen arent currently recruiting as far as I know.

I am currently in the recruitment process myself (as an Undergrad) and it can be quite lengthy process. I didnt apply online I just called 13 19 01 and booked a YOU session over the phone.

But seriously, my time in the navy were some of the best times of my life and DH loves being in the army.

I must say however it is difficult if you're not married, as much as I hate to say it a lot of units are pretty old school and couldn't care less if your girlfriend has a problem, a wife however gets treated pretty good. The time apart is hard but you get through.

The benefits are great, DH was having a hard time with his breathing and the army paid for his reconstructive nose surgery, we also have a beautiful home and DH is on holidays for a week just because.

Yep can agree with the wife comment but with what we have to put up with we would want to be treated well.

Benefits well I think the risks outway all possible benefits hence why now pg I am glad my DH saw the light and family as a higher priority, no benefits would ever cut the lost of a husband and father.

Hehe nah we don't watch masterchef.

Rifeleman was one of his other lsited jobs he put down too :) Hopwfully we will hear about something clearer by speaking to someone rather than just applying online :)
