I am pregnant and due in nov, I decided to have another child along with my husband after realising we were very lucky to have a "good" baby (if there is such a thing)

DS was BF until 5-6 months and started sleeping from an early age. Ffrom about 4 months he slep from 8-9pm thru til 6 wake for feed and then in bed asleep with us til 9ish. HEAVEN!! He has always had 2 sleeps a day 10-noon and 3-5pm.

He turned 1 last week, and he was admittedly sick a week ago with a virus and had his vaccinations done on monday. But for the last 2 weeks he wakes without fail at 2am, he goes back to cleep if I give hime 2 min cuddle and then he's up at 5 screaming for a bottle, then he sleeps until 7am and thats it hes up, but he's cranky cause he's still tired. He only sleepd for an hour at each nap. And I am not really sure what to try. I just keep trying to get him backinto his routine. But I dont' have any faith it's going to work. My hubby gets home at 9ish most nights so I dont end up sleeping til midnite atleast, so I am a zombie if if i only have 5-6 hours (whe pregnant).

Is this a normal developmental thing to happen. I feel tricked!! I went ahead and got pregnant, he was supposed to stay an angel, not starting to wake at 1 year!

Any recommendations?

Hi

Welcome to the club! I'd say that its fairly normal, sounds like the 2am call is just part of the separation anxiety thing that they go through. I havent managed to solve this with my DD so cant give you any words of wisdom, sorry!!

Perhaps your DS only needs one nap during the day now. The gurus seem to suggest that anytime from twelve months on this may be the case. Personally I cant stretch DD much beyond 11.30am but we are working towards just one big sleep after lunch. The book I've got suggests that they have a maximum of two and a half hours during the day and dont let them sleep later than 4pm and a bedtime of 7pm.

Sorry dont feel like I've been much help but I feel your pain. DD never sleeps later than 7am:rolleyes: and I am up at least two times overnight.

My DS is 12.5 months and he is doing the same thing...I think it is the separation thing, he is fine as soon as he sees me usually.

Must be difficult while pregnant though!! :hugs:
