View Full Version : Help - disbosable for tummy sleeping 12w old boy
I have a 12 week old baby boy who REFUSES to sleep on his back. After 8 weeks of fighting I gave in and he sleeps on his tummy. I find that this means every night he is leaking through his nappies. I have to change him at least twice during the night even if he is asleep.
Anyone have any ideas on good nappies for this situation -have tried dri-bots, snugglers and huggies
Thanks

Try the coles brand with the May Gibbs pictures on them. I've found them to be the best to be honest. also, grab some covers as they will help contain it. I use cloth so have cloth covers but you can buy covers from bigw or target or whereever. Make sure he's tucked down as well as it will help stop the leaks coming up. Ive also heard of people using a maternity pad around the top of the nappy to add extra absorbancy. Good luck.
have you tried a bigger size just for night so you have more nappy to absorb.
also second the above the coles brand ones in the green packets with the gumnut babies seem very absorbent

What nappies do you use at the moment? My boy sleeps on his belly, always has he's 8 months now, i use woolies select, although they have been discontinued :( also make sure his penis is pointing down!
Currently we are using Huggies Infant (i think 4-6kgs) He is 4.8kg so they should be fine. Hehe yeah I was not told about the penis pointing down thing til he was 6 weeks old :) Make sure now thought thanks

I would be trying the next size up. He is really close to going up a size any way. I found with Ds he was in and out of infant size in no time.

My ds was a tummy sleeper from the beginning (and still is) we used huggies back then and we used a size up at night time. You could also try putting a bigger size over the size you are currently using to help with extra absorbancy.
Mamia from aldi are great.

My ds always sleeps on his tummy. I also second going a bigger size for night time, when ds leaks through, it means its time for bigger nappies, I use Aldies. The huggies ones are also small in make and for that weight I'd just go up a size now:yes:
I love Aldi but there are no stores over here in WA :(
try the next size up huggies and see if it works...nothing to lose really as he'll move to the next size up eventually so if it doesn't work put them away for later

My DS was a tummy sleeper from day one and I found that he needed to be moved up a size in nappies a good kg or kg & 1.2 before he "grew out of" the current size. I'd try going up a size too see how you go I have also heard about using a pad in the top of the front of the nappy but never tried it!
Try Japanese nappies Moony. They are now available in Australia
Best nappy ever!!! Our daught always sleeps on her tummy. With Moony-no more leakage!

:iagree: Coles nappies r the best. i find that they are longer (good for taller/longer babies...like my boys) and i don't have leak issues with them but i did with Huggies.
i mostly use babylove. i've only had the odd leak for my ds tummy sleeper (mostly when the size is getting smaller.) but had plenty with the huggies. I found the sorbies night nappies ok as well but wasn't a huge fan of them in the day... plus babylove worked out better value.
but if you prefer a particular brand then just try going up a size.
