I had my 36 week appt yesterday and all went well. When I got home I went to the toilet and noticed I was bleeding lightly (a small amount, and pinkish). It wasn't mucousy at all, so I'm pretty sure it's not a show. I rang the hospital and they said not to worry too much as long as the baby was still moving around.

I had a bit more bleeding yesterday and noticed the same thing this morning. Bubs is still wriggling around as usual. I've had a couple of crampy type feelings but nothing unusual.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be worried?

Sometime you dont get the mucousy stuff until a few days after you see the light pink spots.. everyone is different.

If you are worried, maybe make an appointment just to settle your own mind. The may want to do a u/s or an internal.

apparently sex can also cause light bleeding at this stage of pregnancy, as can an internal exam

just so you know :)

I had this at about 36-37 weeks too. It wasn't enough to be a show or my mucous plug. The midwife did ask if we'd had sex as this can cause little spotting. We hadn't had sex in the few days before though.

It was only light and stopped quickly, it was nothing to worry about it. If you are still worried make an appointment with your dr or ob.

Thanks heaps everyone... I called hospital and the suggested I come in. So they monitored bubs for about 2 hours and did an internal. They couldn't work out where the bleeding was coming from (it was high up) so monitored me til 5pm to see if I bled any more. (I didn't)

Then, typically, I got home and noticed a bit more pink spotting - grrrrr! I have to go in tomorrow again anyway to be monitored again, so I'll tell them then.

I'm glad to hear that it's probably nothing worth getting worried about tho. :fingerscrossed:

i had exactly what you described with my DS when i was 36 weeks, very light pink bleed, no mucous.
I called the hospital and they said to come in to be checked, i did, when i arrived there my waters broke and my DS was born 6 hours later !

Dont stress though even if your bubs comes soon all will be fine :)

Good luck

:hugs:
