Bug in urine test and all ok?

Ok so as the topic suggests I have just found out I have a bacteria bug in a urine sample and have to start antibiotics today. Just quietly I'm freaking out. Im13 wks tomorrow and all was well at 12w scan last week. Has this happened to anyone else and was the outcome good? Thanks

I had an awful awful bladder bacteria at 12 weeks also!...e coli----eeeewww..and was put on antibiotics by the Obs for a week..Safe for Baby - no harm done at all...depending what bacteria you have..I thought it was cystitis so drank heaps of water & ureals to flush it out..but after 3 weeks it didn't go..its was not a very nice odour!!!
You will be fine.

Thanks so much Blossumflower. I have the e-coli also. Have just commenced anti-biotics 3 x a day. Am booked in for scan tomorrow to check how all is. my m/cspecialist just told me it can cause m/c so best I'm on tablets,just wondering why this journey has t be so hard.

Shy- with DS1 I had 4 UTI's in the 1st 12 weeks of pregnancy! Ouch!!! They were even talking of putting me on low dose antibiotics for the remainder of my pregnancy. Thankfully everything settled down. DS1 is nearly 8, and very tall for his age. He came out just perfect. Hope you feel better soon.:hugs:
