Hi Tannie.
I am semi new to Townsville. (We moved here in Jan.) I have a daughter 2 and a bit years and a son 4 months. I am also in Annandale. There is a Playgroup at the Community Centre located at Annandale Shopping centre (enquiries to Susan
Rice 4775 4213) Hope this info helps.

PMS - is that the Defence force one? When we moved here, the people before us were RAAF & a Defence Force newsletter came in the mail that mentioned a playgroup at the Annandale Comm Centre - but I got the impression from the newsletter it was only for Defence Force people? I'll ring and find out anyway - as is closeby which would be good.

Philippa - I'm same perosn you've PM'd through EB!! I AM going to call you - but have had workmen here (don't really want to be discussing childbirth options with strange men wandering around...LOL) and now my parents are visiting till the weekend........I need to find a quiet time to give you a call.........soon will hopefully.

In any case - would any of you ladies like to get together sometime in the next few weeks? If so - lets PM and sort something out.......

Cheers,
T

Hi Tannie,

Glad to see you here too.

I would love a get together. Let me know when & where, and I try to be there.

Tannie we can talk by phone or we can get together at a park or something & let the kids go at it. Having as much time afterwards to make your decisions before seeing the Doctor may be less pressure. But I am ok when ever you are baring other commitments naturally.

Looking forward to meeting you all.

Cheers

Sorry, I haven't been back for two weeks!
I will make it to the Maze Mania meetup tomorrow.
I will PM those that are interested in the Birth Centre info shortly.

The other group some of you maybe interested in is
MOPS (MOthers Of PreSchoolers, any children under school age)
It is held every 2nd Friday morning at Mount Louisa Church 485 Bayswater Rd (Cnr of Mather St)
Next one is 30 sep. They run from 9.30am to 11.30am, arrive 15mins before to get children settled.
It is $5 and they provide morning tea, the children are cared for while you get some time out they usually have a speaker or discussion groups and then some kind of craft.
If you are interested call Fiona on 47731639 or email: jfmack99 (at) hotmail.com

I only just started going in the last few months because Fridays now work out for me, and I love it, it is a really supportive welcoming environment, many of the women are religious but there are quite a few of us who are not.

Regards

Oh and the other thing I really enjoy doing with my daughter, and we have been going since she was a few months old is "Kids In Harmony" its a babies and kids music, singing, massage classes. You are in a group of 5-8 parents babies the same age and it is catered for each age group, where they do singing, dancing/massage for babies, relaxation and play musical instruments.
If you can afford it (@$10 a class) is really worth it. The children get so much out of it. You'll love it too. Theres nothing more beautiful than seeing the little kids all enjoying themselves so much. My daughter gets so excited when she know we are going and she sings the songs we learn together. It is a great way for us to spend some quality time together just for her. It's kind of like gymabroo but SOOO much better. The woman who runs it Kerry is lovely too.

It's in Cranbrook, in the rossvale shops that are located in the suburb behind the Kmart plaze/centro.

If you want to find out class times etc ph 47251992
You can go for just one class to seeif it is something for you or not.

Hope that gives you some ideas

I have short hair so the pink ribbon isn't so easy (plus I don't have any pink ribbons) \ :o but Philippa and I know each other so I'm sure we'll find each other.

Hi all,
So sorry to have missed the meet up - believe it or not I have had a rotten dose of food poisoning :( My mum & dad were here for a few days & dad insisted on having takeaway Fri night........woke up around midnight just in agony and basically sat on the loo & vomiting into a bucket for 12 hours.....kept passing out with the pain (I'm hopeless with pain - my BP drops and I lose consciousness....it's pretty dicey :o ) Luckily my parents were here until Sat Pm and were able to help with bub until they left..........will NEVER go back to that place for f & C again

Anyway - what exactly is at MM? I haven't been there but wonder if it's suitable with a 7 mth old? I could still come I guess and she would nap in stroller - she tends to need a morning sleep at 9am.......so she might just go off to sleep for me - I find a lot of the meet up things are at around 9am which is kind of why I haven't gone as yet, it's taken me so long to get her into a nice routine of going for a nap, I'm a bit scared to upset it!! But we have to go to swimming lessons in a few weeks at 9.30am - so I guess it's going to happen anyway.

The group at Cranbrook sounds good - I might also check that out.

Do you reckon the food poisoning would have hurt my unborn bub at all? I'm 18 weeks pg.........not a lot I can do about it now I guess - I have u/s this Friday anyway, but could have done without a dose of FP. Am still feeling quite dodgy today - lots of abdo cramps and pain and diarrhoea still (sorry if TMI) but at least I can keep some food and fluids down - just have to wait till it passes I guess............

Bye,
T

Hi Girls

I have started a thread to see if there were any Townsville Mums, and my sister told me to go this one.

I am moving back to Townsville on Friday. Do you regularly meet up?
