Feel free to add the locations of the best (and worst) Mothers/Parents Rooms you have come across.
Best:
David Jones (Rundle Mall)
Comfy chairs for breastfeeding, 2 large toilets (so you can take your pram in with you), private rooms if you don't want to breastfeed in public, a fenced play area, microwave - and its always clean
Myer Centre (Rundle Mall)
It is on level 3 (same level as Lincraft) and is in the Centre - not in Myer - near the eastern escalators. It is HUGE and has curtained off rooms for breastfeeding, a microwave and sink, change areas, toilet big enough to take prams into and fenced off play areas. It's not as 'homely' as the David Jones Parents Room (more white and sterile), but is much bigger.
Worst:
Ikea (Of all places - considering the way they target children in their adverts)
I may have missed it on the map, but Ikea doesn't have a Parents Room! They have a couple of baby change rooms but nowhere quiet that you can sit down and breastfeed. I have to admit that I didn't look inside the baby change rooms - so I could be wrong.
Am looking forward to hear of other great (secret) locations!

I went to Ikea when I was a day overdue and really needed the loo so I ducked in to the disabled one- I think that's the "parenting" room too:eek: .
I guess if you needed to feed and you weren't shy you could sit in one of their display rooms on the lounge!:p Might have a microwave in one of the display kitchens!
Thanks for starting this thread, we haven't been to Adelaide with Hugh yet but will be down there soon, so it's nice to know where to go.

Oooo did i hear you say you were comming to adelaide :D
The Colonnades one isnt too bad in the new section.
much different to the baby rooms of old.
I almost fell over when I see it for the first time,as they were alot different way back when I had my first baby.
Marions are nice(when they are kept cleaned) and the DJ and Myer ones I have heard good things but havent been there yet.

The parents room at Ingle Farm Shopping Centre is a bit of a shocker, too small, always crowded and the microwave never works. Westlakes Shopping centre has a good one, although a little small but the best one I have come across is at our local, the Village Shopping Centre at Golden Grove because it's a good size and they have a fenced in play area for toddlers while you are tending to baby

I'd have to agree with you there Mandy, I was there yesterday and I couldn't fault them

the one upstairs at TTP.. is gross... i take my neices in there and always feel dirty once we've left no matter how many wipes i've used to clean things before the kids touch it!!for the places that are really gross.. have you thought about maybe sending a letter in to management? if they hear enough feedback they should change it after all they can't know what we want unless we tell them?

Got a bit creeped out at the one at TTP near Medicare - was changing DDs nappy and a male staff member of a popular supermarket chain (had his uniform on) came in and washed his hands - hello! male toilets next door! He took as long to wash his hands as it took me to change DDs nappy - in fact he was still in there when I quickly made my exit! Insert a 'creeped out' icon here.

I reckon I've encountered that creep at TTP too.............I had him lurking around the women's underwear department in Target. WEIRDO  Can't remember him being in a uniform though.
I haven't been in many Parent's Rooms yet but the couches in the one at Myers TTP are disgustingly grotty :barf:

Umm the worst i have seen is probably Centro Arndale:eek: i'd rather change my baby in his pram:o The best locally for us would be West Lakes Mall but i agree it is a bit small. Otherwise i agree, i quite liked Marion and Golden Grove too!!

I've only sat on that couch once but I felt like I needed to go home and disinfect me and Aidan

ive heard that the new ones there are pretty good
Have to agree with you all about the ones at TTP, they are all disgusting  The best I've encountered would have to be The Village at Golden Grove, this is where I usually do my shopping so I use it often & its always neat, clean & fresh smelling:yes: The one in Myer is also not bad, although from memory the chairs for breastfeeding mums were visible to the public when the door was opened so perhaps not so good but this was awhile ago, may have changed since then :fingerscrossed: You can only hope.
Ciao,

Gosh that is creepy. I would have reported him.
This probably sounds really bad ,but I often wonder how CLEAN the rooms really are and whether others would clean them to my standard:eek: LOL sorry that does sound bad, but its just the way I feel.
