So after vehemently debating with people (particularly my mother and mother in law!) over the past few months about cloth vs disposables, I decided to actually do some research and get my head out of the sand (or out of my butt :o ).

DH and I have decided - Cloth it is!

I so bought the line that 'now days disposables have as little environmental impact as cloth'... omg I was shocked when I actually read up about it all. I totally understand why people use disposables, I was just so overwhelmed with the thought of washing and leaks with cloth. After reading up on the threads here, researching products and having a good chat (not a debate) with cloth advocates, I am convinced that with proper routines for washing etc, and good modern cloth nappies, that this is the way to go.

I am totally not a greenie either, but I tell you what... I can see that this nappy thing will become a little addictive! :D

Now I just need my baby :D

Good one you...I too am a cloth virgin! I have purchased 2 trials and been using them, have found them a little bulky but now I am addicted to the search for the ultimate cloth! I have been in this game for a week now and am awaiting more fluffy mail from 3 other companies to try!

Have fun!

thats great! i used to use cloth for my eldest daugher at first cause we couldnt afford disposables.. but only if i had of known about the modern nappies available! all i used was terry towling ones and they used to be such a pain! the leaks, the endless scrubbing and soaking etc etc... alwell... spose it saved us money at the time! but with my second daughter i use disposables.. call me slack.. but i really dont want more washing then i already do everyday! sigh... cant wait till my youngest daughter is toilet trained also!

You won't regret it!!!! :yelclap: I have only switched to cloth (pocket nappies) in the last couple of months and haven't looked back. Once you get your head around the terms it becomes easier.

It is very addictive. I've never really worked out why??? But I can't stop searching the net, reading forums, buying, buying, buying!!!

I also found that when I started telling people about cloth I generally got the rolled eyes, but when I explained modern cloth most were more interested. Some friends have even checked out some of my new nappies.

Best of luck with it!

Good on you!!! :yelclap:

I use pocket nappies on my little girl & love them to death.
I have to admit I still use sposies on my 2 year old boy as I am a recent convert & dont want to buy up on ones to fit him when hopefully he will be toilet trained in the next 6 months or so (:fingerscrossed: ).

But the modern cloth nappies are trully wonderful. My favourites are Green Kids!!
I was using terries on Ella for a bit... now I have my stash of pockets I wont be going back to them! :p
