Hi there jessgray,
Great news that you got into tinlids. My son (12 months old) and I had an interview a few weeks ago. At our appointment, Caroline explained about what work we could possably get, gave us some work permits for k-mart and target to sign and return, and made up his web page on the spot as I had some recient professional photo's with me on disk.
We paid the $140, and just waiting now to see if we get some work from them.
I had been to a few other agencies, this one was by far the most professional, and $140 is quite reasonable to be represented by them.
So if you can, take some photos with you, even good home shots may do.....babies change so quick. I can't remember the age of your little one, but under 2 yrs Im pretty sure its only $140.
Good luck, keep us posted.
Shelby.

i cant open up one of the attachements they sent me lol its the enquiry letter one :( i have tried to open it on both computers and it wont open lol so i have only got to read the registration form whats the enquiry letter say?

Hi Jessgray, congratulations on your little one being accepted into Tinlids. In response to your enquiry below, I went back and had a look at what my enquiry letter had said...guess what.......I can't open either! Sorry I can't help you out.

I had a look at my acceptance email which was in June and I have 2 attachments; the Registration Form and Headsheet Acceptance. The Headsheet Acceptance could be the Enquiry Letter you were referring to. It contains a little bit of information about Tinlids in general along with a congratulations on getting accepted for an interview. It then discusses the interview details such as calling 03 9889 8299 to arrange a time and where interviews are held etc. It also informs you to return the completed registration form at the interview. The letter briefly outlines the FILES, HEADSHEET & INTERNET systems and fees. I would call Caroline and mention you can not open it as maybe it contains different information or more information that is required. Also she may be unaware that people have been unable to access this attachment and she may be able to rectify it.

:) cool thanks for that yeah i did send pics in an email. i'll put some on a cd that are super recent :D (any excuse to take pics lmao) coz i think in one or two of the ones i emailed it looks like ds has no hair when he has a head full of hair it was the lightning when the pic was taken lol

edited to add: i have been wondering does DS need a tax file number? or should i wait till he starts getting regular work before getting one?

Hi jessgray,
Your DS only needs a tax file number when he earns over $7000 in a year. So you should be ok for a few weeks...:fingerscrossed:...(possitive thinking :) )......
Caroline will give you some paperwork for child work permit's etc....
Thinking about it more, not sure if its $7000 or $6000, Caroline will be able to let you know, just ask, she is really nice.
Good luck, keep us posted...

Hi Jess, wish I'd seen this post sooner. I joined with TinLids a while back and was so disappointed. She was such a disorganised person who works her business in a medeochre way. Very unprofessional. I'd sigened up, she said not to pay until a few months later bc we had 5 mths free time until joining date etc. So I didnt, she said she'd email me for more info and start an online comp card etc and she would prob have her first job soon as there were someone looking for my dd's looks there and then! So I waited. Nothing, then nothing more...and still nothing. I rang her and she hadnt even heard of me! Let alone my dd. So we went through everything again. I waited...still nothing! It was then I decided to go with Munchkin's. We'd been with them for around 6mths and Maddie had done several jobs with them when I got a cheque sent from TinLids for a job that she was supposed to have done!!!! SHe hadnt had a job with TinLids ever, so how did she get this. I rang Munchkin's, I rang TinLids...TinLids were clueless and Muncnkin's had a giggle!! I spoke to Spotlight who the supposed job was for and they have no idea how it came about either! So it was really weird.

Needless to say, TinLids I felt were quite unprofessional and useless. I have been more than happy with Munchkin's!

i havent heard of munchkins.

your the 1st person to have said something negative about tinlids.i have been told the fees are payable at the time of interview and that covers 12 months of being with tinlids.

i also know there is no guarentee of work in the industry so i wont be shattered if ds doesnt get work.

You are right, they do not guarantee work in this industry ever. I only am going on what a g'friend has had with them, 12 mths no work, and myself.. 6mths no work. Yet with Munchkin's both girls have had lots of work!

Munchkin's Managment is in Richmond. Debra has been running this family business for years. She only takes selected amount in each age group and knocks back many (unlike Bayside Bubs who take just about everyone). Always friendly and deals direct with her families rather than have rude secretaries like some companies. I searched around quite a few companies and narrowed it down to just Tin Lids and Munchkin's. I found Munchkin's to be the better of the two after trialing Tin Lids for around 8mths. We have been with them since and my dd has had many jobs and made loads of money. You can see her latest in Target Glen Waverley at the card stand.

Cheers
Wendy :)

Was your interview today? How did it go?

jessgray

ds had his interview today and it went great :) he slept the whole way there and back lol and he loved caroline. we filled out a permit form for target and i just emailed some more recent pics of ds to caroline. so ds is now part of the industry
DP didnt want me to sign ds to any agency but after him talking away to caroline he was really excited about the sorts of jobs kids get

tink62- sometimes a child doesnt have the right look for a agencys clients thats probably why you have found changing to munchkins better for you and dd. was she in the headshot book we were shown the headshot book so we could see what the headhshots looked like and how the clients saw them etc, i might have seen a pic of her if she was in it.

i know a boy who used to be with a larger agency and he got zilch work then he changed agency and ended up getting tonnes of work and even got tv appearances. i think it all comes down to the clients the agenicies have.

Hi, l was wondering if anybody had experience with both Bayside Modelling and Munchkin Modelling agency. I was interested in signing up my child with one of these agencies. If so, let me know if you had a toddler signed up and what good/bad experiences you had with them.

My daughter has been with Bayside since October last year and has never been called in for a casting....needless to say we will be trying another agency when this contract is up..

Hi, thanks for your feedback. Did they give you regular updates to how your daughter is progressing? Which other agencies would you consider?

Hi
No we did not receive any communication from them besides the newsletter they send everyone
I would consider the agency at Richmond that the others mentioned

Hi again, I have heard great things about Munchkins Management. Anybody got any recent experiences with Bubblegum?
