Hi all,

I need some help. I really like the name Kalan for a boy ( I came across it when Sarah O'hare and Lachlan Murdoch choose that name for their son ) However, I'm not sure if it's prounounced Kay-lan or Kal-lan. Can anyone help???

Hi,

When I read about the birth in the paper, they wrote the pronunciation as
Kay-lan.

Maybe Kalen/Calen would be less confusing.

It is a nice name, with either pronunciation!! :)

All the best with your decision!!

very cool name
i have always though Kal-lan, i think like the other post kay-lan would be spelt that way or kail-lan or cail-lan.

what ever name you choose, they will get people miss-pronoucing it :)

Hi,

I think it was me who posted in an earlier thread that I like the name kaelan or Caelan. They are both different spellings for an Irish name that means Slender/fair. It is the name we have chosen when our time comes (nothing wrong with pre-planning) :D
I think Kalan (pronouncey Kay-Lan) is the anglesized version of the name

It doesn't matter these days because names almost always mispronounced. My daughter's name is Raleigh (we pronounce as Rally). We often get Ray Lee instead.

My son always gets is name spelt wrong, this name is Connor- pronounced (conna) But its gets spelt Conor, or Conner. Its annoying but im sure it doesnt matter what we call your children someone will either miss- pronounce it or miss -spell it!
