Over it!! What is going on???

Hello ladies,

I am at my wits end this morning. DD is 4 and has been toilet trained both day and night since she was 2. She was pretty good to train with only a little persuasion here and there but we did it in a few weeks.

Now over the past 3 weeks we have been having accidents at night. Not just wee accidents but full blown poo in undies and then lie in bed and cry because she knows what she has done.
And lst night she didn't even call us just went back to sleep and told me when she woke up.

We are very vigilante about her going to the toilet before bed and I am trying very hard in my sleep deprived state to not be demeaning and a feral mum. But I don't know what to do. i can't even give her a decent shower for the dried bits because the hot water system is having a strike during the mornings until it heats up.

What do I do????

If your daughter has been trained for 2 years now, then I would be looking for a medical/psychological cause for her toileting regression. Has she been sick? A cold or fever? Could she have a UTI? What about constipation? Once you ruled all those things out you could look at psychological causes. Is she worried about something? Has something changed, a routine, or starting a new activity? Family issues? Is it too cold to get out of bed and go to the toilet? Does she think she isn't allowed to for any reason?

Once you figure out why she has suddenly regressed, you can fix the initial problem and then you'll probably find that the toileting fixes itself.
