Might need a trip to GP.
I have been to the gp they prescribed a cream but does not seem to be working
I'm a huge fan of Paw Paw Ointment. :yelclap:
Has always cleared my kids nappy rashes up virtually overnight.

Have you tried a cortisone cream for a few days to speed up the healing? And then an anti fungal for a few weeks? This is what cleared my DD's up :)
Or a change in nappies...
I have used paw paw ointment does not work for my child

I would be going back to the GP. It could be fungal which is way its not clearing.
Ok will go back to the gp thanks
DS just had a horrendous nappy rash, and it turned out that it was fungal. No amount of paw paw ointment would clear it up (paw paw usually works for us). We used Daktozin (you get it over the counter from the chemist) and it cleared up within two days.
Bellini how long did you use the cream for?
I think DD has a fungal nappy rash and used Daktozin for a week but it seemed to have come back in the same places (it had seemed better).
I'm using it again and the pack says a week or until it disappears (it has in a few days) but Im wondering if I need to keep it up for a bit longer than that?

We used it for two days and it virtually cleared up, but we used it for a few more days after that just in case. That was only recently, so i'll let you know if it stays away :)

We have used a fungal cream before because of a persistent reoccurring nappy rash, can't remember the name but it was an over the counter brand I had a chat to the pharmacists (no it was stronger then daktozin).
And be careful when buying Pawpaw cream that it is not petroleum based http://www.natural-health.net.au/articles/skin-care/pawpaw-ointment
^^ Good point. There is a brand in a red tube which most people seem to buy, and it's petroleum based.

It can, anything is possible.
DS cant wear higgies without getting a rash.
So certain nappies can also cause a rash

On different children yes. Its not a blanket rule that XYZ nappy will cause a rash on all kids.

Toys R Us Especially for Baby, now we use cloth & no more rash.
DD had really bad nappy rash was blistered n bleeding n nothing worked till i was put on2 ego resolve it was gone in 2 days i couldnt believe it once it cleared up it hasn't returned n it over a month now the cream is similar 2 the daktozin but cheaper off the top of my head $13 for 100g n seems thicker which gives more of a barrier i wont use nething else ever again
DS as had some pretty nasty rashes. First one at two months - turned out to be a fungal infection so normal nappy cream did nothing for it. Anyway, we have a prescribed cream (Celestone) which we rub in, and then we put Daktozin over the top. It never clears up straight away, but at least we don't get the bleeding/blisters anymore.

The last couple of days...out of frustration seeing ds sore, I tried nutrimetics nutri rich oil and it worked! Redness gone in a day and now this morning bumps gone. And a sweet smelling bum.

poor thing, sounds painful!
If its not clearing up the nappy rash could be infected - fungal, thrush or the like, so definately a trip to the GP.
Natural ways to prevent nappy rash:
change nappy often
try to have as much nappy free time as practical
wash bottom with plain water pat dry, a little lavender or tea tree oil (a couple of drops in olive oil is healing and anti bacterial) aloe vera is soothing and healing
use natural balm as much as possible many commercial wipes and creams have alcohol, preservatives, fragrances that irritate skin.
consider using eco friendly disposables as the don't contain the plastics and chemicals or cloth nappies (pref. natural material like organic cotton or bamboo) and wash in eco friendly detergent.
