Questions about booking a private hospital in Perth

I'm just curious, if you're using an obstetrician that delivers at the hospital you want, and you're already booked in and seeing the obs, do you have to book into the hospital itself as well, or does having the obs mean you are automatically booked into the hospital?

If you were 20+ weeks pregnant, have you left it too late to get into a hospital like Mercy in Mt Lawley? Or would they still take you?

You'd think I'd remember this stuff from when I had a bubs :rolleyes: I'm just being a nosey parker/a bit worried about someone I know who say they haven't booked their hospital yet.. or even gone to have a look at it... they've just decided they're going there and that is all they've done!

hi, they definately need to book in with an Ob and most are booked out really really quickly. Her GP would know all of this though, they need to send a referral to the Ob they choose. Her only choice may only be public hospys now. Which isn't a bad thang in my view anyway :)

My obstetrician gave me the booking form for the hospital when I had my 12 week appointment. The midwife told me to ring the hospital if I didn't get info back from them within four weeks.
