HELP! Present for 1yr old party????

Hi all!
My son has been invited to my friends son 1st Birthday party on Saturday (just got told yesterday!), except that I have no idea what to get him for a present!!!!
Please, please, please help!!! Any suggestions would be much appreciated!!

How about some books? My DD loves books over toys any day :D and no one buys books anymore.

We bought our nephew a book- Mutt Dog- as he has soooo many toys and clothes already. I thought it is something he'll have as he grows older. I also put $50 in his card to go in his bank acc, only cause he is our nephew, prob just do the book for someone else.

I think books are a great idea as well. One's with flaps to lift, pop out etc.

Some of things that my daughter got that are a big hit are:-

Mega Blocks, play telephones, A crazy frog that races around the room and plays music :eek: Some flash cards. Clothes.

Do you have any photos of your son and your friends son together? You could get one enlarged and framed for a nice keepsake. Or how about making a c.d. of music that was in the charts the year the boy was born?

hmmm a little one year old boy. Depends on how much you want to spend i guess....?

I just got my DS a little bench with a hammer and you bang down mice and they pop back up...its quite cute and it was only 10 bucks at KMART. Maybe even a little car or something..Or even wooden blocks! all little kids love wooden blocks....books. sorry im not much help lol

Hey guys... thanks heaps for your help. I went with the book idea. I got a 'plush' "Pooh Stories" Book. And also two pint size books about diggers and emergency vehicles. Except havent been able to give them yet as the party has been postponed to this week!
