hi Cass
I haven't had your trouble so good luck but there is a great TasIVF group under IVF - join they are wonderful - look for Bill Watkins links
Hi Cass - I'm not from Tas, but I had a laparoscopy done November last year. My ob performed it himself as this is an investigative procedure and he was going to clear any blockages he might find as he went. I had to have general anaesthetic, and went under at about 10am, was awake and home mid afternoon. My recovery time was pretty quick. To do the procedure, they go through your belly button & you get a few stitches there. I had to have the next day off work, slept all day but I was fine after that, sore but ok for office duties.
I had it done for similar reasons - we had been trying to conceive for about 5 years and after the procedure, our ob wanted to track our cycle for 3 months before going onto IVF. After 2 months of tracking (Jan & Feb), he let me off the 3rd month and we were booked in for IVF in April. But my period never came! We got our miracle baby :) DH was also taking Menavit since December and we secretly think it and the laparoscopy were the sole reasons we conceived.
I wish you all the very best in your journey - I'm sure you will have you bundle of joy soon :)
