View Full Version : Found out what was wrong.
I have been taking DS2 to the drs 2-3 times a week as he just will not stop crying. The dr kept telling me that nothing was wrong with him.:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
Last night while visiting my uncles he cried the whole time we were there. So we decieded that on the way home I was to shop and get some thickened formula. All I could get was the karicare AR. Once we got home we made up a bottle for him as all he had drunk that day was about 100mls. He ended up drinking 200mls of the AR and he then slept for 8 hours. :smiliedance: So far he has had 3 bottles of the AR formula and he has stopped crying all the time and is sleeping.
I have a happy baby now. Plus I am happy too.

mum_2_5 - I completely sympathise with you! :hugs:
Kade is dairy intolerant and has reflux and it took me 14 weeks of being told 'he'll grow outta it' and then finally ending up with him at emergency with a UTI for them to finally have a good look at him. I thought it was because they were constantly putting me in the '1st time mum' basket so with your experience I would have thought they'd listen to you!
We saw a good improvement on Karicare AR but only in that he vomited less, he was still upset. I'm so pleased to hear it is working for your little one. Kade is now on a prescription formula (for the dairy allergy) and I have to mix it with Karicare food thickener to help him keep it down. He's also on Losec for the reflux. Anyway, he's much happier now! Still more irritable than the others at mum's group but 100% on what he was.
borntobemummy - thickened formula is for kids with reflux. It's heavier and thicker and helps them keep it down :)

Hey babytoo - Kade is just under 7kgs too, he just looks long in his Jolly Jumper! We've been told to hold off on solids too but I am so keen to get started... he is watching me eat constantly! Think I may start this weekend (he'll be 6 months this week).
We've been told to go straight to vegies with him and not do the whole rice cereal thing because of troubles he's had with constipation. He's on Pepti Jnr formula now. Has Ruby improved?
I've been naughty and couldnt resist but to try her on some food:eek: she goes really well but I'm pretending that she hasnt tried at all! I just couldnt get her to drink her quota of milk so I added it to rice cereal and got it in her that way! She was Pepti for a while which I liked but she stopped drinking it all together, she seems to be doing better now but we will get there! They will be one b4 we know it!
We were at the stage that if this didn't work then we were going to take him to john hunter hospital, 3 hours away, as the medical help up here is getting beyond the joke.
