When my second child was overdue by 14 days, and almost ready to be induced the next day, I decided to take castor oil which my friend said worked for her sister in law... I took 40 ml castor oil, then washed it down with a cup of black tea and a piece of milk chocolate, just to rid the taste, it is horrible stuff... Unfortunately though you are on the toilet for a while... I was on there for about 2 hrs... This is my story: 9pm came, took the castor oil, tea and choc, Then had a shower and jumped into bed... By about midnight, I awoke to find myself going to the toilet, eventually this is where I stayed for about 2hrs... By about 2am, I woke my husband as I was feeling a bit wet(my waters broke during labor in my first pregnancy) and wasn't sure if my waters had broke, so I rung the hospital, at that time I was like "I think my waters" "MY WATERS JUST BROKE" At that time they told me to come straight up, 3 hours and 45 minutes later, beautiful Lily was born... Ahhh, that just brought back memories, so painful, yet so beautiful... The finished product that is...

Hi Tracy,
I am due around the 20th Dec & am going to North West private. I hope that being small this time round for you doesn't mean you go over the due date however you won't be in hospital for xmas day. Would be cool to have a new years eve baby though. Party for the rest of your life on that night huh???
All the best with the next 8 weeks.
Cheers Ali

Ali,

My first came at 38 weeks so am hoping this one decides to arrive a little early as well. I will be very dissapointed if it is late. I am one of these people that has a great pregnancy but am totally over it by about 36 weeks. So I would be pulling my hair out if I got to Christmas....

Hope all goes well with yours. If you are due 20th you could well make Christmas, what a gift....

An early hint (for the lady wanting to bring it on early) I have heard Rasberry Leaf Tea can help - without the scary effects of taking something like caster oil, or eating curries. I drank quite a bit in the last trimester of my first preganancy and as mentioned my little one was two weeks early.

If it doesn't bring it on early, it does soften your ligaments as well apparently which can help during delivery, so can do no harm.

Good luck!

Tracy

Dear all,

It is good to hear everyone's progress. How are you all coping with the recent heat ? I have found that dizzy spells are hitting me more regularly on hot or humid days which is very frustrating. I have also cut back to 2 days at work and so only have 4 days left over the next two weeks.

It is now starting to hit home just how soon this baby will be arriving, although with the little monkey moving/wriggling/kicking etc constantly until last week I have found that sleeping is becoming more difficult.

I found out on Friday that I may be delivered a couple of weeks early due to concerns my doctor has over the development of the bubs and the sudden change in foetal movements. Which is a little disconcerting since I only finish work on the 12 November and was hoping for a couple of weeks off before the birth on 2 December.

I am having an ultrasound later this week to monitor baby's growth and wellbeing. So we are hoping that all is ok since we have come this far.

Hopefully we will be able to obtain confirmation of the sex of the baby at this stage of development since at my 20 week scan it was not clear due to baby's position.

Anyway as to the size of the babies born versus pregnancy size, I have a friend who looked tiny and when she delivered her son he was 9.5 pounds which surprised everyone. I am still not sure where she carried him since she is only a small build herself.

Anyway I had better go and eat something since my stomach is growling at me.

Take care everyone.

Leonie

Hi there,

I am actually due on the 26th of December but we have planned a csection this time due to having an emergency last time and missing out on the first 3hours after birth. ( had to have a general and can't remember much)

Is there anyone else out there having a planned csection or have done so and can offer some insight as to what to expect.

I feel like I'm having a baby for the first time and am feeling more nervous this time.

Fiona
