Could this be lactose intolerant??

I started my DS on Yoghurt the other day, he tried it twice and loved it but my problem is he was really really grumpy for the day and night I am wondering if this could be an intolerance to lactose.

Just wondering how you can tell if it is or not?

He has been a really unsettled baby since birth but even more so after he had some yoghurt.

Any advise will be appreciated!

Lactose Intolerance Symptoms & Signs

* Abdominal distention
* Abdominal fullness, gaseous
* Diarrhea
* Floating stools
* Foul-smelling stools

Symptoms often follow ingestion of milk products and are often relieved by withdrawal of milk products. Large doses of milk products may cause worse symptoms.

i hope that helps my ds is lactose intolerant and cant eat nay dairy or soy he is very sensitve to it so if you want to know more PM me :) i can tell you what a reaction is like lol

It could just be that his little tummy isn't quite ready for yogurt. Is he BF?
I would just hold off for a littl bit longer and then try him again in like 2 weeks and see if you get the same reaction.

Yeah he is BF.

I hope thats all that it is. He actually liked the yoghurt and he doesn't really like anything else.

If it is l/i I would be inclined to say that he would have most prob thrown the whole lot up soon after he ate it.
How is he after you eat or drink diary and he has a feed? Any probs there?
I don't know how much of it goes to your milk.

yeah he seems ok when I have milk or cheese.

How do they test for it???

lacotse intolerance is tested through a stool test :)
