On the top of carrots being a side dish really what other things do people do to there veges to make them a bit yummier or look a bit nicer?

I cook the carrots as normal and when they're done, I mix them with some melted butter and a good spoonful of honey. delish topped with sesame seeds!

All you have to do for Julienne carrots is to cook the carrots as you normally would and then add honey to taste and stir - the honey will melt and coat the carrots. You could also add a sprinkle of sesame seeds to make it look a little fancier!
I sometimes put a dob of butter into the beans after they're cooked and then a tiny bit of curry powder - they taste divine!
You could also do - zucchini, beans, carrots and cauli mixed with a little tomato pasta sauce (not too much) and a little garlic - the colours look great and it tastes good too.

Slice them up and nuke them in a little water for 5 - 8 minutes or until tender.

I like to blanch some fresh green beans and mix them with thinly sliced red onion and add some balsamic vinegar, mmmm, very yummy. You have to make sure the beans still have a bit of crunch to them. Very nice with a BBQ too:yes:

We love steamed vegies (potato, cauliflower, snow peas, broccolini, carrot) with toasted pine nuts and butter. Yummm.
The honey carrots sound nice. Might make them tonight with the roast chook.

A "julienne" (http://www.hormel.com/kitchen/images/refimages/seasonedinsight/fruit_veggies/carrot/slice_pieces2.jpg)cut can be applied to lots of veges, all it means is when you cut it up into little sticks. French fries are julienne cut.
Glad it went well last night, we always put honey with our carrots.
