i am not sure if this is related to ds's other problem see http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=34687
but he is getting nappy rash and the cream we have isnt working. brauer's nappy rash cream has always cleared it up really well but not this time :(
so any suggestions.

I find that either aloe vera or paw paw ointments works really well.

I use either zinc and castor oil cream or papaw ointment.

If the paw paw doesn't work, you might need something with an anti-fungal in it.

so if paw paw doesnt work its off to the dr's for the anti fungal cream?

You can get it at the chemist. If you describe what the rash looks like to them they should be able to recommend a suitable product.

:) thanks at the moment its just redness near his bum and round the inside of his legs and near the frount of his nappy.it doesnt look like its getting worse just is very red.

the anti-fungal nappy cream at the chemist is called 'daktozin' i think....but its quite expensive. see if the dr can prescribe it, or something else - might be cheaper? the daktozin has to be used for about a week after the rash has cleared up to stop it coming back.

also, just had a thought - my boys would always get persistent nappy rash that seemed to defy every nappy rash cream invented when they were teething....could it be this?

Also, if there is high acidity in his diet or your breastmilk (from citrus fruit, for example), I know this can make their bums redder too....
