in search of a bookclub???

As my DS is to young to start school, i am finding it really hard, to find a mother with a son, that goes to school, who does book club, or a book club for parents?
Is there such a thing? If anyone knows of one in perth, that would be great, im desperate to find one.

Which type of book club?

The book club were you all choose a book read it and come back 4 weeks later and discuss it

Or

Childrens book club (ie Ashton Scholastic) where the school sends the order forms home and you pick which books you want and send the money in ?


For the first one ask at your local Library - Our local Library runs one
for the second ask at your local primary school as just about all schools do them.

I would contact Scholastic or a similar company. When our DS#1 was at daycare and then again at kinder, there was a few book companies/clubs that delivered and picked up from there.

Hey nicki...

I couldnt quite find what i was looking for on those site, did u find anything?
It was more like a teacher's thing, or maybe i just went into the wrong parts. Lol

School bookclubs give kick backs to the school for letting them run it through the school.

Ie the school gets a % of each classes total order back in books.

so ANY school will let you order books through the book club
call your closest school and ask for the contact details of their Ashton Scholastic book lady (it's usually a mum who organises it) then call the mum and explain that you'd like to order some books but your kids aren't inschool yet and ask her to give you a call when she has the next lot of order forms.
If she's pretty cluey she'll just write a dummy class and room number on your form to bump up a class total and get more free books for that class. :thumbsup:
