I wasnt sure where else to post this but thought this seemed like a good place lol
I just got back from my Dr app to hear about my first trimester blood results...they didnt do much to change my Downs risk factor of 1:142 so Dr still thinks i should go ahead with the Amnio.
My question is (i am all new to this procedure)...what are the costs involved? I have private health care (MBF) but from what i've been told,it wont cover anything to do with an Amnio.
How much roughly should i be expected to pay? Someone told me they paid $350 for the visit/procedure then another $418 for the pathology & FISH results...
Is that about how much it is for almost every OB regarding an Amnio?
I have a referral to see a Dr Jillian Spilsbury in Newcastle & everyone raves about her and even my Drs wife's babies were delivered by her.
Has anyone else has this procedure done with her?
Do you pay any costs upfront or are you eventually billed afterwards?
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated :)
