View Full Version : Your Favourite Cloth Nappy & Why
There are sooo many threads in this section with lots of info but I kinda wanted a summary form of some description on the cloth people use, age of bubs, why they like, what they don't like.
I am only new at this game and just wonder why people buy so many different brands and not stick to one...I have the Green Kids trial which I will use for the first time tommorrow but they look great, easy to use, so I would probably just buy more of them and not try different ones.
Anyway, the questions are:
How old is your bubs?
What Cloth Nappy do you use and love?
Why do you love this?
A Cloth Nappy you hate and why?

How old is your bubs?

What Cloth Nappy do you use and love?
Tots Bots Bamboozle
Why do you love this?
Trim, ultra-absorbent, works as a night-nappy (lasts 12 hours), feel so soft and luxurious, gentle on his skin, quick drying compared to other bamboo nappies.
A Cloth Nappy you hate and why?
I can't think of one that I hate, I guess my least favourite would be the AIO's I bought, thinking that AIO's would be much better/easier because there's no cover etc required. But like RB said, they take heaps long to dry (the two I've got take longer than my Bamboozle) and so aren't really worth having, unless I had about 50 of them.
How old is your bubs? 8 1/2 months
What Cloth Nappy do you use and love? Fuzzi Bunz, they are trim, they fit DD well, dry quickly. They were lasting all night until recently (she is still in a small size, I think she just pees too much each time for it last..it was still lasting 10 hours though.)
Why do you love this? they are trim, they fit DD well, dry quickly
A Cloth Nappy you hate and why? Motherease AIO...it's ugly, it's big and bulky. I've never even used it.
I also have Green's nappies for o'night now and they do last all night (12-13 hours) but DD is only small and there's no way I'd use them during the day. Far too bulky for my liking for day use. Night time is fine though.

What Cloth Nappy do you use and love?
For newborn, explosive breastfed poo phase - Tots Bots snappi-able
For when they are older (and doing less poos) - pockets, mainly Sandra's Stuffables
General - Erica's blends with the cotton knit outers and Cherub's Kiss Honey Boys
Why do you love this?
Tots - because the terry loops and fantastic fit seems to make it poo-proof
Sandra's Stuffables - ease of use, ability to customise stuffing and good fit for DS
Erica's - again, good fit and very cute print patterns
Honey Boys - ease of use and gorgeously cute
A Cloth Nappy you hate and why?
ummm, hate is a strong word...probably Motherease Onesize because they were a terrible fit and just not absorbant enough.
wonder why people buy so many different brands and not stick to one
Different baby shapes means that it's very difficult to have one nappy design that will fit all bodies well. Since we don't know the shape of bub before they arrive, it's a bit of trial and error for many people finding the nappy design with the perfect fit for them. Different people also have different priorities (breathability, ease of use, absorbancy, bulk etc) and usually won't be able to work this out until they try a nappy for themselves (hee hee or on bub). For example, Baby Beehinds have a great reputation and a fabulous product but unfortunately for us, they just don't fit DS very well. I like Sandra's Stuffables but I know some people dislike the 'puffiness' of these. It all comes down to personal choice and how lucky you are to find your perfect nappy quickly.
I can't really answer your questions as we're still experimenting in our house with a couple of different brands and types. I have also been using a few different covers.
I must say I am totally in love with my(?),Hugh's, knitted woolen soaker pants. They are excellent.
