I went to a party once, and the chocolate crackles were just soooooo yummy.

The lady who made them said they were just chocolate crackles or rice bubbles (can't remember) 1 block of chocolate (melted) and butter. But every time I try the recipe the chocolate goes lumpy as soon as i add the butter. I have tried lots of different ways.

Can someone please help!!!

I use a can of condensed milk and a block of good chocolate (like nestle or cadbury). Melt the chocolate in a double saucepan and then add condensed milk and lots of rice bubbles.

I'm not sure how you would make it with just butter and chocolate? The condensed milk keeps them creamy and yummy.

That sounds fantastic! How many rice bubble (1000's) no, as in a small box or more?

Maybe about 4 cups, I usually tip a cup in a time and stop when its too hard to mix. You just want all the rice bubbles covered.

I have made them before using mars bars.

Just found this recipe and it seems pretty close to the one I used...

Mars Bar Chocolate Crackles

You need:

2 x 12 packet of mars bars
250gms unsalted Butter
6 cups Rice bubbles

melt butter and mars bars together pour over rice bubbles and mix
spoon into patty cases and refrigerate - they are a treat and much better than traditional choc crackle

(this would refer to the fun size bars - I used the big ones and just made sure I had about the same weight and just ate the remainder )

You can make Mars Bar slice with the same ingredients.
Combine them and put into a shallow pan. Melt some choc buttons and a little butter and pour over the top and then set in the fridge.
When it is set, cut into squares.

Yum yum

You may have overheated your chocolate and it seized when you added the butter. There's no reason that butter and chocolate shouldn't work. You would need to have your butter room temp and cut into cubes, your choc cut up and do it all in a bowl over simmering water, just melt the butter and chocolate at the same time and stir with a metal spoon as wooden spoons can cause the choc to seize (go lumpy). It would be more forgiving with cooking chocolate than dairy milk etc.

I have heard of the choc crackles that are just choc and rice bubbles, again you need to be careful melting the chocolate so that you don't burn or seize it.
