Hey I'm taking DD to a party on the weekend and their son will be 1 and I have no idea what to get him as he seems to have everything!! I know he likes Elmo but that's it. This should be easy as DD is only 9 months but I don't know anything about boys hahahahaha.

Thanks ladies

i got this (http://shop.dragonflytoys.com.au/store/trotto.html) for a friends son's first birthday - he was just at the age of starting to walk and absolutely loves it -

he is almost 18mths now and still plays with it every single day

ETA: just saw they are out of stock - but there are lots of similar ones that push/pull and make noises

Thanks ladies

Amara- I went to kmart but they didn't have any slippers, a cute pair of pair of boots I got my DD though ;).

Golden- oh that's a good idea I'll have a looksie today.

Country- that's really nice, I love woodern toys. We used to have a shop that only
sold them but closed down :(.

M2B- I was going to het one of thoes actually but I thought it would be the type
of thing he's parents would have alreay got him. Might call and ask.

Thanks for the great advice!
Anymore ideas??

Books are one of those things that most people love to get for their kids (there are even Elmo ones) but for a one year old there is a series of books called "Thats not my .... dragon, truck, puppy, dinosaur, monster and many many more" They are tactile books and repetitive and cute! My kids love them (DD is3.5 and won't give them up and DS is 15 months and "reads" them all the time.

Thanks SS I got him some toy story books and an Elmo drum kit, it's not age appropriate but DD is 3 months younger and loved playing it at the store and I know this bub loves to bash on this too so :fingerscrosses: it's a hit ;).

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas I have 2 more coming up. Hehe

The favourite for the first birthday is a push toy, one the baby can use to show off his new walking skills.

I always like to give silverware like the ones from Oneida. a set of spoon, knife and fork that are designed especially for babies. I think they are very elegant and special
