I made some Nappies out of Polar / Microfleece and i hate doing the elastic on the legs. When i finished the nappy the crotch is always small because i assume i pull the elastic too hard.
How tight do you pull the elastic when you sew it on ? and do you pre-cut or cut it when you reach you mark?
Is is pulled tight so you arm hurts or is it just so the elastic is nice and taut(s.P).
Thanks

Hmmm, it kind of depends on the kind of elastic you have. I've got some from Nappies Covered that I stretch as far as it will go, but it's not as stretchy as the elastic from bubbaearth (haven't tried anywhere else). When you say the crotch is too small, in which direction are you talking? Widthways or lengthways (does that make sense?). What pattern are you using - this might be your problem.
Sorry, that's not much help, but if you let me know more of what you're doing I might be able to help (not that I'm claiming to be a great expert!). :)

It was a tad small width ways. I am using swimmer elastic from spotlight.
I used the wee waka pattern, i realised though last night that when i printed it out that it was not at the optimum size (IYKWIM), so i am going to make another one tonight.
DD wore one i made th other day and it went for 3 hours no leaks:smiliedance:
Thanks
