I got a BB hemp the other day & love it
But yesterday i hung out my washing around lunch time (never get to it before hand). So hung out a heap of nappies, covers etc along with all bits of the BB so the nappy, 2 hemp inserts & the bamboo one. I went out to get the washing off just then & everything is dry EXCEPT the bamboo  I had heard they took longer to dry but its still soaking wet!
Think i stick with hemp, if a flat piece of bamboo takes this long to dry i'd hate to see how long a whole nappy would take.
Just thought i'd share for anyone who is interested

Hi RB. I have both hemp and bamboo BB's. Because we live in Melbourne, I don't have drying expectations! When I bring them in off the line though, they go on a clothes horse overnight to dry off properly. But you are right that the Bamboo takes longer. I guess I just live with the fact that I can't get hemp or bamboo nappies dried in a day down here! And that bamboo is just so soft and snuggly, I couldn't give it up! A freind of mine was here the day my BB pack arrived and when she felt it the first thing she said was, "What can we turn this into after it's finished being a nappy?":D
fair enough! I had the same thing happen yesterday - awesome drying day here and everything other than by bamboo and AIOs dried in a day on the line outside - better than any other day in winter so far, and so nice to get them out in the sun!
I have found that the drying time of my bamboo nappies decreases a little bit with use, but hemp still dries faster. Having said that, my bamboo nappies take about the same amount of time as my all in ones. I still find that my bamboo nappies are much much more absorbent than any other nappies I have, cotton and hemp. It's the trade off I am willing to accommodate for a brilliant night nappy fabric!
The bamboo fold ups are thick and being thick are incredible absorbent - I think they are fantastic boosters between a hemp night nappy and a wool cover - never have wet PJs with that set up! But keep in mind that most bamboo nappies have been designed to accommodate for the longer drying time of bamboo and will only have 2 or 3 layers of bamboo through the body of the nappy.
As with all nappies there are pros and cons to each, being aware of them and considering what is important to you is the key! In QLD the drying time of bamboo might not be as much of a problem as it is in TAS!
Hemp: Trim, absorbent, relatively cheaper, easier to come by, faster drying than bamboo, but not as absorbent as bamboo and doesn't remain as soft as bamboo does.
Bamboo: Trim, soft and stays relatively soft, brilliantly absorbent, but takes longer to dry, and is a bit harder to come by at the moment, and is a tad more expensive.
Just my take on the comparison!
I'm waiting on my hemp and bamboo nappies to arrive!!!!:smiliedance:
Can they go in the dryer on warm?!!!!
Can they go in the dryer on warm?!!!!
yep they can, I normally hang all my nappies out on a clothesline/horse and then just finish off any that need it for half an hour or so in the dryer. Never use hot tho, as it can melt the bamboo around the resin snaps.

I just thought it was funny, thats all. I thought that my greens hemparoo's took ages to dry, till i got the bamboo. I do agree though, it is so soft & snuggly. I'll probably be getting another couple of BB (one of each), they are addictive
i would think of it as another reason to buy more :D - because you need enough to accomodate drying time. It is much easier when you aren't one nappy away from running out IYKWIM.
