Chest infection in bub

Hi all,

Just after a little bit of advice.

I have a 6 month old DD who has had a cold for a little while now. This has now turned into what seems like a chest infection (or just a cough, I am a bit unsure)and I am not sure whether or not I need to take her to see a doctor. She also has conjuntivitis, which I have been using breastmilk to try and clear up, as this has worked wonders before, but does not seem to be working this time.

I have taken today off work to look after her but not sure if I should try and get her a dr's appointment today or wait and see how she is tomorrow.

What are other people's experiences with baby's with coughs/chest infections? Should I be worried, or am I over-reacting?

I would make an appt with dr. Kids chest infections can become more serious very quickly.

I think take her to the doctors just to be safe! When she coughs is she coughing any flem up? In my experience if the colds lasted a long time and shes coughing green flem up or the snot in her nose is green then its best to see a doctor because it might need antibiotics

my ds has had a chest infection almost every fortnight since he turned 1 :( they arent fun. take her to the dr's to be sure if its a cold or not and her conjunctivits will be gone in less then a week with eyedrops the dr can prescribe :)

Best to make an appointment with the Doc to make sure all is ok or if treatment is needed. Ejs had a cough pretty much since she had a real bad cold a few months ago - last tues it started to get productive (her chest is clear though) and it ended up she has croup Shes only now just starting to get over it but the cough is still shocking :(

Hi Y'all. Im a daddy and at home while baby and mum are at hospital. Im worried and have been on the www searching for people with similar circumstances. Our baby is 6 weeks, he developed a cold....had some conjunctivitus and last night his chesty cough got worse and he was limp and not very welll at all. We took him to hospital and they have kept him in, they cant believe our local doctor sent him home. Not a nice experience at all. They have given him oxygen and his cough is awful. I think...im assuming its all pointing to a chest infection or broncillitus....not broncitus (sorry for the spelling). hopefully with some meds, oxygen and liquids he will beat this and come home to see me soon. x
