My little girl is 3 months old. She was sleeping through from 8 weeks up until 12 weeks, but is now waking at 1.30am for a feed, then again at 3.30am and again at 5am. Everytime she wakes up she wants a feed. She is settling back to sleep on my boob and I know that this is wrong, but how do I get her back to sleep without feeding, when she is obviously hungry, because she wakes up making the sucking sound and looks for my boob as soon as I pick her up. I have tried resettling her with her dummy, but she spits it out and she grunts or the cries get louder unless she is fed. She wasn't going to be until 9pm, and her last feed was at 8.30pm, but in the last few days I have been feeding her at 6pm with a top up at 7pm and she has been asleep by 7.30pm, but still waking early. HELP? :(

Its not wrong to feed her at night if you want to. My daughter is 11 months old and is still "feeding" through the night. And has been since birth, although sometimes i wish she would sleep all night. If you are comfortable with this dont let it worry you. Some people will tell you its easy to stop the night feeds. These are the last feeds i stopped with my sons and probably will be the last feeds i stop with my daughter too.

Do what feels right for you. Shes only 3 months old and is still going through growth spurts.

Yep, I agree...who said it is "wrong" to feed to sleep? My 14 month old still feeds once during the night...he goes back to sleep on the boob, whereas my 5 year old didnt feed during the night past 10 weeks. They are all different....go with whatever works for you and your bubba...it's still early days. Go with your instincts and try not to worry about what other people say is "wong" or "right" jst worry about what works for you! :D

Best of luck

Don't prescribe to the "don't feed to sleep" propaganda if it doesn't suit you or your baby. Her only compass at this young age is her instinct! Breasts are a wonderful, sleepy place for babies. It's common for babies to have growth spurts, during which time they demand more food. As long as you let her know it's all business (feeding) and no play, it should pass. You are doing the right thing as long as it's right for you.

Another nurser to sleep here, and ds also feeds at night a couple of times, and shock horror, he is 18 months old!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with it, in fact babies were designed this way.
There is a lovely hormone which is released while breastfeeding that makes both mum and baby drowsy, and promotes sleep for both of them.

Don't fight nature has always been my motto, it is too smart.

All the best, and don't worry, just give your baby the boob, and enjoy the time breastfeeding, it passes all to quickly. :)

Its all normal to have your bubs being feed at all hours especially at your bub's age.Remember the growth spurts. My daughter is now 8months old and still feeding twice a night and 2-3 times a day.She has just recently dropped a night feed only to want that feed back again the next night. What to do.It wont be long before she will be weaned off and all that complaining will be forgotton.

So dont worry too much, each baby is has different needs.

Yes to what everyone else said! The breast is designed to help babies AND mamas sleep so you go for it! My son feeds to sleep at least once a day and he's 21 months :D Beautiful!
