I have just heard why they were so worried about even baby bottles on planes. Two of the terrorists were husband and wife and they were going to take their baby on board with them and hide the explosives in the baby bottle.

They were making people throw out ANY liquid or paste - lipstick, foundation, toothpaste, water bottles, even non essential medicines. Obviously it would be a human rights violation not to allow FF mothers to take baby bottles on, so as a precaution against anything except milk in the bottles, the parents had to taste test a little of it in front of airline staff. There was no evidence (that I'm aware of) that the terrorists were go blow up their babies.

Lets hope that not even the most hardened, desperate groups ever decend to such inconceivably appalling tactics as to involve their children in their madness.

I don't necessarily believe everything, but I don't automatically disbelieve it either. This is something that I would believe terrorists capable of, I just can't believe that someone would do this to their own child.

I am not surprised. When Mrs Bush was in Singapore, my brother and niece had invites to join her for a little children's party or something. My brother was asked to take a swig off my niece's water bottle (and he works for the US govt.). My niece took a swig instead. With all that is going on, you can't be too sure these days.

Yes but these were British citizens not palentinians that had grown up in refugee camps. They had the same rights as any British citizen a couple were British born and islamic converts so what drives someone like that!

You have to be careful not to judge against your own belief system - it just doesn't apply. Like a whole range of other cruel things that ppl do...

According to our moral view point it seems insane to take your baby on a suicide mission.

But it is also against our moral view point to UNDERTAKE a suicide mission.

I think it actually makes a weird kind of sense. Why orphan your child when you can make them a martyr and ensure they spend eternity with you in paradise? I can understand when I try to understand their motivation.

It's not the first time this has happened either: ppl have actually used babies to blow up planes before (I think, will check for news clips and post back).
