Hello bub hub families :-)
My name is Camille Poole, I am a mother of two beautiful girls, and a student at The Australian Catholic University, studying for a bachelor of midwifery. I'm halfway through my second year I have been on prac at Nambour Selangor Private Hospital.

I believe that Midwifery is a beautiful profession and I am so honoured to be beginning a career that helps women in such an amazing time in their lives. I am passionate about women’s health and I am looking forward caring for women and their families at every part of their journey, prenatal to postnatal. The Follow Through Journey is part of my assessment each semester and involves myself following women’s experiences as she journeys through pregnancy, labour, and into the postnatal period. Last semester I worked with four women and their families and it was one of the most enriching experiences of my life.

It is a wonderful experience to be able to provide continuity of care in a system that rarely provides it anymore. The Follow Through Journey is beneficial, I belive, to both the woman involved and me the student. The woman and family involved gets a level of care that can only come from the care provider really getting to know what is important about the family and what is important to the family. As the student I get a unique expirience as every family's experience thoughout childbearing (be it your first or fifth) is different.

All of the care provided by me will be monitored by an experienced mentor however part of the Follow Through Journey is having somone to contact (even meet for a cuppa) over all the little pregnancy and birth worries that go through your head.

It sounds GREAT what you are doing. I am pregnant with number 5 now and if I lived in Brissie still, I would be interested for sure...I am very passionate about birth

Best of luck with it.
