We are Mark and Elaine, Sydneysiders who have been together since 1999, married in 2003 and trying to conceive for just over 4 years now. In a nutshell, we have tried IVF six times without responding to the drugs. No follicles, no eggs. So here we are searching for a donor. We did manage to conceive a miracle baby almost two years ago, against all odds and we haven't given up hope for another miracle but perhaps from a different source.:p
I currently work part-time at a Sydney University, caring for our gorgeous daughter Ela the rest of the time and Mark has a stable job as a project Manager. We are animal lovers and currently have 2 dogs that will no doubt become 3 once we buy a bigger property. We have many friends, both here and overseas, and about 5 sets of friends with young children. We make sure we get together with them as much as our busy lives can accommodate and already Ela is forming great friendships. Mark is from a very close family here in Sydney, so plenty of cousins in the making and family gatherings once or twice a month. My family live in the UK and are very supportive of everything we do. We see them at least once a year, often twice, for a month at a time.
Sounds like a happy picture doesn’t it? Compared to many, we feel very blessed to have this wonderful family around us and indeed to have our own precious daughter.
However our hearts ache to provide a sister or brother for Ela. As we have both grown up within medium sized, loving families, we can’t imagine Ela missing out on that. And of course we won’t be around forever. For Ela to have a sibling (or two) to love (and fight with at times, we are sure :D ) is the gift we long for.
We love the great outdoors and live in the suburbs of this beautiful city. We take holidays twice a year which have usually involved road trips and camping, to discover new places on a budget. If we are lucky enough to find our donor angel, I will become a SHM as I have an online teaching business. I want to devote as much time as possible to raising our family and we hope to develop in Ela and any future kids a love of life, an appreciation of family and an independent streak which runs deep in both Mark and I.
If you are interested in learning more about us and our quest for a donor angel please send a pm or email and I will respond with other contact details if you would like them. I have to be truly honest at this point and say that we are unsure of what the future will hold in terms of contact with us. We are happy for you to get to know us before you commit to donating your precious gift and vice versa. And you can be sure that we will be eternally grateful. But we have decided that for the sake of Ela and the child to be, we want them to feel they were created equal as that is how they will always be treated and loved. If you would prefer to be an anonymous donor, you can contact our clinic (IVF Australia) on 02 9553-7555 and ask to speak to Sandra
– we are patients of Dr Sacks.
We will cover all expenses of our donor angel, including medical, travel and childcare costs. And if we are successful, we would hope to have more than just one more child. Our specialist is confident that having carried one baby without complications, donor eggs would be our best chance at completing our family circle.
I enjoyed writing this ad and we are looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
With Love,
Elaine and Mark.

Hi Elane

For some reason no one has bumped up your post, really sorry about that, I notice you posted in August and I was having a bit of trauma then and been on a whirl wind since.

How are you doing and have you had any luck finding a donor, there are many ads at the moment so I'm not keeping up.

Hope to hear your news
