so have settled on birthday in the park, cant turn back now, invitations are set ready to be given out tomorrow. coops birthday is the 13th but going to do it on the 20th just to give more notice and a bit more time for me. i have decided on the park as it gives me more money and i want to buy him a bike for his birthday which i think is money better spent than at scallywags.
so was thinking getting someone to do face painting, taking some balls, balloons, table as well for food which will be a fruit platter, cheese, kabana, fairy bread and whatever else i can think of. so kinda like a morning tea i guess more so than anything else. will run for 1.5 - 2hours which i think is plenty of time.
so chuck me some ideas on what sort of activites i can organise. its a small park but its fenced(big bonus lol) and i am sure there will be other kids there but none the less, i dont care. i woudl rather all children be kept safe and its also very local due to most of the families living in the area.
Birthday parties in the park are great - the kids do tend to amuse themselves on the equipment and don't need much in the way of organisation. And awesome that you've got one that's fenced - even better!!
You could take a footy / ball of some sort, kanga-cricket, frisbee? Did you want actual organised 'party' type games? You could do a pinata (is that how you spell it?!) which would be easy enough to hang off a tree or the awning of the park pergola (if there is one)...

its only a small park. slide, few climbing things and no swings. thats really it but because its fenced its a big thing for me because i know there would be a few little boys(mainly boys in his daycare room) who would stray including my own son.
mainly want some fun things for them to do. doesnt matter what, just fun things for a group of little kidets.

Treasure hunt
take glitter and glue and let them make their own party hats
bubbles
a ball game
will try to think of more
I say go for a pinata then - in my (albeit limited!!) experience with little boys - they like to bash things with broom sticks. Heck - even my little girl would love that, lol.
I've been to parties recently where people have had little play-doh or painting stations set up as an activity... not sure how practical would be for a park though. I've seen blank masks at the craft shop - they could colour them in to wear at the party?
Maybe organise some old school ball games? Like tunnel ball or something?
Take some music if you can, and they can have a dance.
Play tiggy.
Cheap pass the parcel?
Sorry, am tired... can't think of too much more atm! Am sure someone else out there has some great ideas though!!
sounds like you have most of it sorted bec other than a few games.
pass the parcel
pin the tail on something
freeze (if you can take a portable cd player to play music)
make balloon faces (balloons and markers)
pinata
thats probably plenty considering they will also spend time eating playing and then of course birthday cake.

most kids that age will be happy enough with a park and some food :):)
bubbles are a great thing ! you can get heaps of cheap bubble mix and the bubble stick things haha and kids will have hours of fun just popping them !
i did this when i ran my next door neighbours 3rd birthday the kids werent interested in any other games !
