Hi All,

We have a lovely DD who has an increasing appetite for food and we want to provide her with some healthy, quick snacks that we can make for her easily either to freeze or just before serving. We currently give her yoghurt, some fruit and cruskits but want a little more variety for her to try.

Does anyone out there have any recipes for us to try out? DD is 14 months in a couple of days with 4 teeth so far.

Cheers

DD's snacks usually consist of:

*Fresh fruit (banana, grapes, mandarin, peeled apple, pear, peach...whatever we have. Sometimes I squeeze the juice of 1 or 2 oranges and she loooooooves it for afternoon tea)
*Yoghurt
*Nuts (although I think only having 4 teeth is probably not suitable)
*Dried fruit (apricots and sultana's usually)
*Arrowroot biscuit
*Rusks (those Baby Mum vegetabe rusks)
*Cheese slices

I also freeze batches of the following, and just defrost it when needed:

*Scones with fruit jelly or jam or honey
*Banana muffins
*Banana pikelets
*Zucchini slice
*Mini quiches (perfect bite size for toddlers)

Just a few ideas there.. If I think of more I will come back to post.

I make up little platters with things like ham, cheese, fruit, crackers, rolls/bread, dried fruit.

Other hits in this house are:

Grissini sticks, crackers,
Dips, hommus, cucumber raitia, sour cream, tahini, cream cheese

roll ups, (mountain bread/pita bread) with various meat and salad fillings

Homemade mini pizzas

fruit salad

crumpets
