We are moving house in 2 weeks and i just saw our new house today, which is small to say the least. We are moving cause DH has been transferred, and the house they are supplying has no bath. I have DD 2 and DS 7 months. I can put DS in the laundry tub but DD wont fit. She hates having water over her head in the bath for washing hair, i can only imagine what she will be like in the shower. Any tips or suggestions i have not thought of????

Sorry to say but she will just have to get used to the shower! We don't have a shower here and DS has been showering ever since he didnt fit into the bath (though sometimes he still wants to try and he is 4). Having said that, you could always just put a large round bucket or a baby bath in the bottom of the shower, fill up and let her sit in it there....we did that a few times and will do it again when DD gets too big to go on the bath in the stand. If just showering, put lots and lots of toys in the bottom of the shower and let her play while you shower....my DS loves it...good luck!

we moved into a house last year that had no bath..

didnt take the kids too long to get used to a shower.. although ds2 was only a few months old, i would use the baby bath and sit it in the shower

go to kmart and buy one of those clam shells and stick half of it under the shower and fill it up. just like a bath (but smaller than a normal bath but bigger than your laundry tub.) or if you could measure the size of the shower cubicle and try to find a little wadding pool that would fit. something like that - or you could change the shower head to one that you can hold (on a short hose) that way dd wouldn't get it on her head.

hmm hard one.. i know its always a important thing to have a bath for the kids, i do though know that i had to do without one for a while when i had my first daughter, only had a shower, so i had to give her showers, which she loved which was great! then after a few years we moved into a house that has a bath and its great, but the girls either enjoy a shower or a bath though which is good! anyhow, maybe you could make the shower fun for your daughter? might be a long shot, but only can try, hope this helps.. :fingerscrossed:

you could get a shower flower hat...get from chemist. i had one for dd when she had grommets in so no water got into her ears...no water gets on their face either but you can still wash their hair.

you could get a shower hose (for washing your hair at a basin) from any discount store or coles/woolies and just stand/sit her int the laundry tub...i have done this with dd

I was also going to suggest one of those huge storage boxes. You can definitely fit a kid in one of those.

Or you could get a hand held shower head so it doesn't just fall from above, you can direct the water more carefully.

Bubby had his first shower with me at 9 days old. I didn't put his head under though. He loved it, blissed out and fell asleep. I was rocking and singing to him while the warm water fell on us. It was beautiful.

how about buying one of those lil blow up pools, the baby size as it would be big enbough but small enough to fit in the bathroom
