Anyone got a good, easy recipe using sweetened condensed milk?
I have a can i want to use but no recipes - i can't make caramel as i don't have golden syrup and can't get to the shops (unless there is another way to make caramel someone can share).
I have all the basic baking supplies - all types of sugar, flour, eggs, milk etc.

Thank you :D

Hey you can make caramel by just boiling the condensed milk tin in some water (it's not recommended on the tin... but I do it all the time!). You just have to make sure that the can is covered by water at all times. You have to boil it for around 3 hrs though!

That. And then get some ANZAC bikkies, soften them in a very low oven for about 5 - 10 minutes, then shape them into little cups, let them harden/cool again, and fill the indentations with the caramel. OMG, soooo good. Of all the things I miss - this is probably the biggest!

Hmmm boil the tin you say :detective:
So i just keep it well covered with the water and it won't explode? and about 3 hours?
Do i need to rest it before i open the tin or anything?
I don't want to stuff it up and end up with a caramel explosion..:p

You need to let it cool before you open it, otherwise you'll burn yourself. As soon as it's cool enough to touch, you can open it :)

Our preschool cook makes chocolate balls with it using coco, and blended vanilla bisicuits( tiny teddies or Sotch fingers)
she just combines and rolls into teaspoon size balls than roll in coconut set in fridge not sure of the quantities though

I have the can boiling away right now - i'm so scared of it exploding i keep checking the water is well above the tin (even though the pot is huge)
Hope it works :fingerscrossed:
